I have seen most of Miss. Novak's films, but the 1 film I wanted to see was: "_The Eddy Duchin Story"_ & I missed it since it came on so early. Well I checked Netflix, and low and behold they have it on DVD for rental! *_The Eddy Duchin Story_* (1956) UR This glossy biopic of famed dance band pianist Eddy Duchin has a real tearjerker ending and a memorable theme song. Tyrone Power plays the talented ivory tickler who was at the height of his career when he discovered he had leukemia; Kim Novak is his love interest. The movie is directed by George Sidney, a veteran of dozens of Golden Age MGM musicals.

*Did You Know.....* Lana Turner was called the Sweater Girl. Interestingly, Lana, translated into Spanish means "wool." *Did You Know.....* In 1937 Lana Turner starred in "_The Adventures of Marco Polo_" with Gary Cooper. Part of her make-up consisted of black slanted eyebrows that were glued on with fishnet and pulled off after filming each day. By the time the movie was finished Lana's eyebrows had disappeared completely and would never grow back, forcing her to paint them on for the rest of her life. *Did You Know.....* Joan Crawford has had the longest career on the screen of anyone who ever worked before the camera. Mary Astor made her screen d?but in September 1921 and retired from the screen in March 1965 and was therefore technically on the screen longer than Joan Crawford, but in roles of diminished importance. *Did You Know.....* At parties Norma Shearer liked to perform various gymnastic feats, standing on her head or sinking to the floor and rising again with a glass of water balanced on her forehead (never spilling a drop).

*Opps Missed a Keystroke...* *Per Movie Database:* *The movie was released on March 16, 1979. By a bizarre irony, the disaster at the nuclear power plant at Pennsylvania's Three Mile Island happened just 13 days later on March 28th.* *& then Wikipedia states:* *The film was released on March 16, 1979, just twelve days before the real-life events at Three Mile Island, Pennsylvania*. *The accident at the Three Mile Island Unit 2 (TMI-2) nuclear power plant near Middletown, Pennsylvania, on March 28, 1979.* *So it depends...Do You count the the day the film was opened....or the day after (No Pun!) the film opened. ..??*

*Harrison Ford did early work on TV included guest shots on Gunsmoke, The F.B.I. and The Virginian.* *But Per Movie database & Harrison Ford's filmography it does show that his 1st stint at "_Anything_" before anything on TV etc..was "_Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round_"* *Also Per Movie Database:* *In his film debut, Harrison Ford has a tiny role as a bellhop.* *Also Per Wikipedia:* *Harrison Ford appears, uncredited, as a bellhop, in his film debut. He made $125 for the role* *Then "AFTER" "_Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round_" he was in the film "_Luv_" again uncredited but billed as a Hippy.* *After that he did the film "_A Time for Killing_" where he was listed as Harrison J. Ford!* *Per Wikipedia:* *In 1964, Ford travelled to Los Angeles, California to apply for a job in radio voice-overs. He did not get it, but stayed in California and eventually signed a $150 a week contract with Columbia Pictures's New Talent program, playing bit roles in films. His first known part was an uncredited role as a bellhop in Dead Heat on a _Merry-Go-Round_ (1966). A popular myth has him appearing in a scene of _The Great Escape_ but this movie was filmed while he was still attending Ripon. There is little record of his non-speaking roles (or "extra" work) in film. His speaking roles continued next with _Luv_ (1967), though he was still uncredited. He was finally credited as "Harrison J. Ford" in the 1967 Western film, _A Time For Killing_, but the "J" didn't stand for anything since he has no middle name. It was added to avoid confusion with a silent film actor named Harrison Ford, who appeared in more than 80 films between 1915 and 1932, and died in 1957. Ford later said that he was unaware of the existence of the earlier Harrison Ford until he came upon a star with his own name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.* *Ford soon dropped the "J" and worked for Universal Studios, playing minor roles in many television series throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, including Gunsmoke, Ironside, The Virginian, The F.B.I., Love, American Style, and Kung Fu. He then appeared in the western Journey to Shiloh (1968) and had an uncredited role in Michelangelo Antonioni's 1970 film _Zabriskie Point_ as an airport worker. Not happy with the roles being offered to him, Ford became a self-taught professional carpenter to support his then-wife and two small sons. While working as a carpenter, he became a stagehand for the popular rock band The Doors. He also built a sun deck for ???Sally Kellerman and a recording studio for Sergio Mendes.* *He turned to acting again when George Lucas, who had hired him to build cabinets in his home, cast him in a pivotal supporting role for his film _American Graffiti_ (1973).*
