Not really a fan of those films sorry! But I loved "42 Street"!!!
Sawyer, you're going out a youngster, but you've got to come back a star!
-
Thanks Film_Fatale ..I have a copy of "Song of the South" too, & I hate to admit to it but mine is a bootleg! My friend rented a copy froma Video store in Japan and then recorded it onto DVD, & now he gives copies of the film away! It's a crappy copy (It has Japanese subtitles at the bottom of the screen, which is funny) & it's grainy... but hey at least I have a copy!
-
I Married a Witch W./Veronica Lake!
-
and upon further research..wehn I go to Oldies.com & put "Storm Warning" in, the only thing that they list for "Storm Warning" is:
Ronald Reagan - The Signature Collection!!
-
When I check amazon.com for "Storm Warning" it's not available as a stand alone..only through private sellers!
It looks some private sellers bought the:
Ronald Reagan - The Signature Collection (Knute Rockne All American / Kings Row / The Hasty Heart / Storm Warning / The Winning Team) box set then broke up the set and selling the discs! But to buy the disc out right form Amazon.com its NOT avail as a stand alone! Never has been released as a stand alone! Why? It's very strange!
They list it as following:
Storm Warning - Authentic Region 1 DVD from Warner Brothers starring Ronald Reagan, Ginger Rogers, Doris Day, Steve Cochran 6 Used & new from $25.00
and most listings state: Brand new out of a set without shrinkwrap

I like Judd Apatow!! He his very smart and talented to make "Old School" comedies!!
He must be doing something right!? Entertainment Weekly Magazine #968 December 7, 2007 Named him of the "50 Smartest People in Hollywood"!
In 2007, he didn't bring funny, he changed the whole business. On the heels of "The 40 Year Old Vrigin" he hit the zeitgeist with 2 raunchy-yet-resonant-laugh-fest-"Kocked Up" and "Superbad"!
That mopped a combined $270 million! Drama is tanking and comedy is king!
His frank comedies have an innocent center: All that horniess aside, love, fiendship and commitment do matter!!!
Apatow has become both a brand and a star maker, slingshotting guys like Steve Carell and Seth Rogan onto the A list.
He recently joined forces with Will Ferrell (not a fan of his) and Adam McKay on the web sensation FunnyOrDie.Com.

The reason I listed "Storm Warning" as a DVD I would like to see be released!!! Simple answer, I don't like Ronald Regan and I don't think I have to buy the entire box set of someone's film's I don't like to get 1 film!
To see "Strom Warning" I had to rent the "ENTRIE" box of Ronald Regan films (Blockbuster.com), just to get 1 movie! For some strange reason, they powers that be have no interest to release it as a seperate film!
So to me "Storm Warning" is "Unavailable"!!!
It's like the film "Today We Live" which stars Gary Cooper & Joan Crawford. There was a rumor (not happening now) that this film was coming to DVD, but the "ONLY" way to get it was in a Gary Cooper boxset! Silly really! Some films should be release as a "STAND-ALONE" only disc!
Place I buy DVD's:
Oldies.com
Amazon.com

Love the line: My father would be very disappointed in me. To have come all this way and miss my destiny by... a foot.

I still can't believe that "Prom Night" & "The Day Earth Stood" are being Re-Made! Saw the trailer for the Re-Make of "Prom Night" and just laughed!!!
-
You know what is crappy about Re-Makes?? THis the problem with re-makes:
The Day the Earth Stood Still is beiong turned into a remake of the 1951 film of the same name!
Scott Derrickson will direct a screenplay written by Ryne Douglas Pearson and David Scarpa!
Cast
Keanu Reeves as Klaatu. (LOL!!) Keanu Reeves as Klaatu...LOL!!
Jennifer Connelly has signed on to play Helen Benson.
Kathy Bates is in negotiations for a role.
Jon Hamm as Dr. Granier, a NASA official who recruits Helen into a scientific team investigating Klaatu.
and then there is the Re-Make of "Prom Night" Saw the trailer on WWW.MovieWeb.com, what a joke!!
Prom Night is an upcoming remake of the classic 1980s horror film that starred Jamie Lee Curtis. The film is expected to be released April 11, 2008. The film stars Brittany Snow!!!
The original was rated R (which was common for horror films in the 1980s), but the remake is rated PG-13 (common for horror films after 2002). So the reason for the cahnge in rating is attract the "TEENAGERS"!!!
What a joke!!!

From what I read, the movie missed the mark with both critics and audiences, and bombed at the box-office. A soundtrack album by Nilsson was issued, along with a single, "I Will Take You There," but neither became a hit. The movie received some belated attention in the 1980s when it was shown on cable television, and the soundtrack was lauded when it was reissued on compact disc in 2000 (in the UK) and 2003 (in the US). Nonetheless, no official home video release has ever been made, and the movie is presumed locked away in the Preminger archives, as was Bunny Lake Is Missing for several years. The Museum of Modern Art in New York City periodically exhibits a 35mm print of the movie, and it was also shown in Los Angeles in 2007.

As for "Casablanca":
There have been two short-lived television series based upon Casablanca, both considered prequels to the movie. The first aired from 1955 to 1956, with Charles McGraw as Rick and Marcel Dalio, who played Emil the croupier in the movie, as Renault; it aired on ABC as part of the wheel series Warner Bros. Presents. It produced a total of 10 hour-long episodes.
Another series, briefly broadcast on NBC in 1983, starred David Soul as Rick, Ray Liotta as Sacha and Scatman Crothers as a somewhat elderly Sam. A total of 5 hour-long episodes were produced.

GONE WITH THE WIND TRIVIA:
Gone with the Wind is Ted Turner's favorite movie, as such he launched the TNT network with a broadcast of this film.
Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh spent their time between takes playing battleship as said by Olivia de Havilland during an interview called, "Melanie Remembers". They permitted de Havilland to play once and she promptly beat the both of them. She was not allowed to play again.
Also in Olivia de Havilland's interview, she stated that when it came time to get into character she would take at least twenty minutes to fully become Melanie while Vivien Leigh could march before the camera and become Scarlett O'Hara.
All the liquid used for alcohol was tea, but during the scene where Clark Gable and Hattie McDaniel are drinking to the birth of Bonnie Butler, Gable (as a joke) replaced the tea with real alcohol. McDaniel did not know until she took a swig.
Olivia de Havilland's character Melanie is the only principal character to die in the movie. Ironically, de Havilland is the only member of the top four members of the cast to still be alive.
Leslie Howard died in a plane crash during the war, Clark Gable died of a heart attack in 1960, and Vivien Leigh died of tuberculosis in 1967.
Vivien Leigh reportedly stated that she did not like kissing Clark Gable citing his breath smelled foul due to his false teeth.
During the filming of Gone with the Wind, Vivien Leigh was reported to have smoked four packs of cigarettes a day.
In 1989, Gone with the Wind was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". In 1998, the American Film Institute ranked it #4 on its "100 Greatest Movies" list.
Rhett Butler's infamous farewell line to Scarlett O'Hara, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn", was voted in a poll by the American Film Institute in 2005 as the most memorable line in cinema history!

What is sick, twisted, and very sad is that "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is being Re-Made Too!!!
The Cast list is a joke! I guess the rent is due!
Cast:
Keanu Reeves as Klaatu.
Jennifer Connelly has signed on to play Helen Benson.
Kathy Bates is in negotiations for a role.
Jon Hamm as Dr. Granier, a NASA official who recruits Helen into a scientific team investigating Klaatu

20th Century Fox can go to hell!!

Eve Arden is another actress I love, but she was always in the background!
Her many memorable screen roles include a supporting role as Joan Crawford's wise-cracking pal in 1945's "Mildred Pierce" (for which she received an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress), and James Stewart's wistful secretary in Otto Preminger's " Anatomy of a Murder".
Eve Arden is best known, as Madison High School English teacher Connie Brooks in Our Miss Brooks. Arden portrayed the character on radio from 1948 to 1957, in a television version of the program from 1952 to 1956 and in a 1956 feature film.
& of course "Grease"!

The reason I listed them seperatly is that "42nd Street" can either be bought has 1 disc or part of a box collection. Some Ginger Rogers films can only be found on VHS, just like some Joan Crawford!
Also the reason I didn't list "Storm Warning" is that is has never been released as a single disc! In order to get the film as you say is in the Ronald Regean Box set which is stupid!! (Some people don't want to be a boxc set just to get 1 film)
Now if your like me sometimes you don't want all the movies in a box set, that is what I did W./ "42nd Street" I bought it has a single disc!
The Busby Berkeley Collection: (Footlight Parade / Gold Diggers of 1933 / Dames / Gold Diggers of 1935 / 42nd Street) - $47.99 Amazon.com
or
42nd Street $17.99

Audrey Hepburn ..........Simply mad for Audrey!

"Movie Movie" :
A 1978 musical comedy film directed by Stanley Donen. Movie Movie consists of two short films, both starring the husband-and-wife team of George C. Scott and Trish Van Devere, with a fake movie trailer sandwiched in between them.
At the start of the film, George Burns tells us that we are about to see an old-style double feature.
The first feature, "Dynamite Hands", is about a young man named Joey Popchik from a poor family, who dreams of one day becoming a lawyer. His sister is losing her eyesight, so he becomes a boxer to raise the money to have her cured. Along the way he gets seduced by fame and fortune, and runs afoul of a crooked boxing manager. In the end, his sister is cured, the villain is defeated, and Joey becomes a lawyer.
The trailer is for a war movie set in World War I.
The second feature, "Baxter's Beauties" of 1933, is a musical about a dying theatrical producer named Spats Baxter trying to create one last Broadway smash. It features a young woman whose dreams of performing on Broadway are finally coming true, a songwriter who's falling in love with her, and a spoiled actress who almost destroys the entire production with her drunkenness and reckless spending of the show's money. The show ends with both triumph and tragedy- the young actress is a success, but at the heights of his triumph Baxter dies in her arms, saying: "One minute you're standing in the wings- the next minute you're wearing 'em."

Lucille Ball never did get the stardom on the big screen she wanted that is why she went into TV!!
She was known in many Hollywood circles as "Queen of the B's" -- a title previously held by Fay Wray-- starring in a number of B-movies, such as 1939's Five Came Back. Macdonald Carey was designated as the "King of the B's".

"Witness for the Prosecution" is a 1957 crime film based on a short story (and later play) by Agatha Christie. It deals with the trial of a man accused of murder.
This first film version of the story stars Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich, Elsa Lanchester and Charles Laughton. It was adapted by Larry Marcus, Harry Kurnitz and the film's Austrian-born director Billy Wilder.
