  1. I agree with everyone that says the in memoriam is weird. I was absolutely shocked and appalled when I saw the new in memoriam for this year. I know it sounds strange, but I look forward to this every year. It is nice to see the wonderful actors, screenwriters, directors, etc that get a special remembrance each year. Usually it has been a wonderful production and honorable to those that have passed on. Please explain why the current in memoriam is so lacking in taste. What the heck does a nasty toilet and bathtub have to do with the death of these talented people? It is a slap in the face for us so can you imagine how their families must feel? I have noticed an overall "darkness" to TCM, in the past year. Is the person that is in charge of this clinically depressed? Come on TCM open the shades and put some light on the subject. Just because the movies are in black and white doesn't mean it has to be so dull, sad and dark around there! Please change your ad agency or whatever you have done because this is not working. I also noticed that John Spencer is missing from the in memoriam as well, it needs to be recut and redone before the year is gone. TCM needs to wake up and turn on the light box !
  2. Mongo, Thanks so much for that reminder, I will record that especially for my Mom. My Mom is 80 years old and is sad to see so many of the personalities from her age group leaving us. So I will definitely record this and thanks again. Ann Miller was a great star and seemed like a very gracious and wonderful person as well. Thanks Ann for all your great work!!

  4. It really was sad to hear about Captain Kangaroo. I remember his shows very well. At one point, I told people that I was going to marry Mr. Green Jeans! Did any of you hear it on the radio? I was listening to WTOP from Wash,DC and they played the old theme song and it took me back to being a little kid, sitting on the sofa with my stuffed bear, watching Capt Kangaroo. He will be missed. Like someone else said before this maybe he and Mr. Rogers are talking things over.
  5. Katharine Hepburn was one the greatest actresses of our time. I will never forget all the wonderful times my sister and I watched her movies, when we were growing up. I do not understand why Cher is doing the intro for Star of the Month for January, 2004. There are actually people out there, still around, that worked with Miss Hepburn. Why would TCM ask Cher of all people? I wish TCM had thought this through a little more. Did they think about how offputting Cher is to your viewers? Atleast she is to me and I wish TCM had asked a valued fellow actor of Katharine Hepburn, instead of someone that wished they had known her.
  6. Please get me out of my misery...these films are just not what I watch tcm for. I wish I had never heard of Bollywood, it Boringwood, if you ask me. Why have you done this to your viewers, TCM? What has happened to your theatrical standards?
