  1. "My answer to this is WHY?" -- Because it will sell. As far as America, America, [ClassicFlix|http://www.classicflix.com/elia-kazans-america-america-february-a-854.html] has it on sale for $11.98 until Tuesday!

From Where?

However, this one comes up a bit skimpy as it only has two episodes. It will street on July 28th from Infinity. There will be twelve more volumes eventually completing the 26-show run. > > The show's already been available on DVD for the past ten years. Yes, but these should hopefully prove to be the best available as they will be restored and remastered from the original masters

  5. Why don't you people just put CK on ignore!?! He is cluttering up the thread, but responses to him make it worse.

My guess is it's going to be intolerable. After researching it, I found it's going to be on DVD-R. Surprised it's even listed on Amazon and at other well known sites.
  7. Okay so he's redundant and doesn't always read threads before responding, but he's been registered for 4 months and he has almost 2,000 posts!!! If I had posted that many times in 4 months I'd be copying and pasting to save time too which is what I assume he's doing. Also, I haven't looked through his posts but I bet he mentions other companies Let's move on.
  8. So let's get this straight. It's okay to mention websites, but not list the prices? Or we shouldn't mention either and just post the titles and release dates. Or should we just play 20 questions?
  9. No ClassicFlix is not the cheapest, but they are a great resource for classic films. It's especially nice not to have to muddle through 100,000 movies just to find what you're looking for. And to be browsing like on some DVD websites in the "Classic" section and find the likes of Crocodile Dundee. They do have great specials regularly and overall their prices are reasonable.
  10. I'm told it depends on the source. If the source print is good then the Blu-Ray version is much better than SD. Also, I'm waiting for $99 for a BD player. I'm guessing 3 to 5 years until that happens though...
  11. What are you talking about Film Fatale!!! Who talked about race!!! And who's not "reaching out!!!" Don't bring politics into it or you'll be blown out of the water!!! Message was edited by: GuntherToody
  12. Your welcome. I hope that the sales of this set goes through the roof in comparison to their distribution through Best Buy so that they won't think of doing exclusive deals again. Warner made A Date with Judy exclusive last year through DeepDiscount and I imagine that'll be coming out soon for general distribution too.

  14. We knew Universal would eventually come out with general distribution of these sets and it's finally here. Although at a little higher price than those who bought them early at Best Buy for $19.99 each, it's certain to be a relief who don't want to pay between $40 and $80 for them from scalpers. Via Classicflix.com: After aggravating Classic Sc-Fi fans with their exclusive distribution deal with Best Buy, **Universal** has announced they will re-package 2006's (Volume 1) and last year's (Volume 2) Classic Sci-fi Ultimate Collections as The Classic Sci-fi Ultimate Collection, Vol. 1 and
