  1. You're crazy! You WANT TO BE RUDE TO NEW POSTERS???? And you really think that young posters get on here JUST to see how many posts they can make, and to recieve a lot of attention? that is so low.
  2. Hey otterhere, Do you have something completely against me? I also started the post, "Depressing Films", and you basically said the same thing. It sounds like you are against young people being on this board. Well, hate to tell you this, but I AM staying on this board. And I don't belong to "Facebook" or "Myspace" or any of those sites! What makes you think that everyone that's young does? And even if they do, there is nothing wrong with that. And I came to this board when, after I got cable, and started watching TCM, and found the website, I registered, and posted on message boards. And n
  3. *Well, if people want to have discussions with each other, use the TCM email.*
  4. I have nothing against anyone here in the TCM forums, but guys, come on! The TCM forums are turning into a soap opera! I mean, let's respect each other's opinions, or ignore them, and just answer the author's question! I know, it's fun to have that drama, (believe me, I enjoy watching some people go back and forth) but let's either don't respond to someone we're mad at, or respond in a polite way. And I don't have a problem with people who disagree and express it in a polite way! And another thing, I've seen some of you use language before, and I'd like to remind everyone that there are y
  5. Goodness, there is some drama going on! Ava-- I agree.
  6. Irene Dunne in The Awful Truth Rosiland Russel in My Girl Friday Ginger Rogers in Roberta Barbara Stanwyck in Night Nurse James Cagney in White Heat (ha :-D, this is an odd list! LOL)
  7. oh that's nice. they're showing reruns of the stuff i've had to sit through in february?! or the stuff i've had to turn and all the good movies, like now voyager, etc. comes on at 12:30 in the morning. that's annoying. i'll need some new batteries for my remote. :-(
  8. When "Walk the Line" was being made, my dad, me and my brother (and my dog) all walked down to where they were shooting to watch. We saw Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, all them. And when the director said, "action" my dog yapped his head off. And yes, Joaquin Phoenix and the director looked over at us. And yes, it was the most embarrasing thing that ever happened. And to make it worse, I fell. Have you ever seen a superstar?

  10. You could have a seperate channel, OR you could choose which one you wanted. For instance, there would be two small screens on the tv, and you could select the one you want. By pressing, "exit" though, you could go back to the original screen, or whatever, and select the other one. I have directv and there is something like that for sports. My dad thought of a GREAT idea though: Old movies on pay per view! Scroll down and select the one you want to play, if it's not on TCM. Nice idea, Violet.
  11. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0027189/ This is a great movie, it's with Gary Cooper who is magnificent in it.....Just wanted to share.....I saw it on TCM after we got Directv, and I really enjoyed in it.
  12. If you were a director from any time between 1925 to 1950, what kind of movie would you direct, what famous actor/actress would you put in it, what genre, etc. Just curious..... -virginia1995
  13. How do you insert an image??????? Message was edited by: virginia1995
  14. Not that I loved this film, or even want to see it again, I wondered what the title was. It had Doris Day in it, and I only remember some highlights. I never saw all of it, only about forty-five minutes or an hour of it. I think it started out as that a middle aged couple found out they were having a baby; maybe not middle-aged, just looked it. Doris Day is a housewife, with a doctor husband. She has two children, and lives in a big house. I remember that they go to some party, and watch this commercial for soap. Some how, Doris Day ends up doing the commercial for the soap. And it ended
  15. Have any of you seen "The Excorsist?"
  16. Name the scariest movies you've ever see, and the ones you WANT to see. Mine are probably "13 Ghosts" (new version), "House on Haunted Hill", and I can't think of the other ones.
  17. I thought it was a good movie....Lots of people say it's scary, but it's not! Kathy Bates and James Caan are GREAT. It's freaky, but not scary. My grandmother and my great uncle went to school with Kathy Bates. My grandmother said she was really odd, and always in school plays. Is Dick Tracy good?
  18. jeeze louise, that scene scared me out of my wits.
  19. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fantasy_films:1930s The above address is a neat way to search for fantasy films. I don't know, though. Maybe "A conneticut Yankee" ???? I really don't know, but it sounds interesting.
  20. That makes sense..... I think I'm slowly being turned over to the "no modern movies"....
  21. I half and half agree with you. I thought that showing the Lord of the Rings film and The Nightmare Before Christmas was a bit overdoing it. Although I get annoyed when they don't play 1930's movies constantly, because I like them. And I agree that 20 years is and old movie, although I do get a tad annoyed when they play movies like "Tommy", and so on. I think now, that maybe they should have only old oscar movies, and not new ones!
  22. There was a TCM promo on TNT????? Ohhhh.........
