Good point! Extreme love/hate. I put Barbra Streisand in that category as well. Love her
voice and don't care about her acting.
My mom used to say "As a actor he/she makes a good singer" or "As a actor he/she makes a good dancer.
Of course, there certainly are exceptions. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Dan Dailey,Gene K.
Fred A., Rita Hayworth, Shirley MacClaine.
This is probably a whole new post.

Thanks, ILRM. As I said, it is hard to list just five. There are very few I dislike, but I did
want to add Marlon Brando to my "low" list. I know Brando fans...I just can't help it.

TOP:
Bogie
Barbara Stanwyck
Ingrid Bergman
Cary Grant
Paul Newman
BOTTOM:
Jane Russell
Betty Hutton

This is hard. Narrowing it down to five. But, "by George", I did it!!

You hit a nerve!! My husband & I went to see "Octopussy" and got all comfy when a
family sat partly in our row and the row in front of us. They proceeded to open boxes which
contained FRIED CHICKEN DINNERS and started passing portions back and forth. OMG!
Needless, to say the plot of a Bond movie is established fairly on in the beginning. Well,
we missed it and we left. (You can't tell the projectionist to rewind the film)
We do have a "mall theatre" which is very small and intimate and is the best place to
see a movie because it basically shows "artsy" films. The last film we saw there
was "Goodnight and Good Luck".
We also attend a Rep theatre in our city and the audiences are very considerate.
My grandson, even as a little boy, became annoyed with rude patrons. He is 17 yrs. now
and still has awareness of polite behavior.
The two most annoying things in theatres, in my opinion, are rattling ice and chomping on
it and singing along with lyrics in a musical presentation. Kicking the back of seats
and talking are right up there also.
Sorry....you really opened "my can of worms".
Here's to respect and consideration in 2009!!

I am thrilled and looking forward to Alec Baldwin. His "conversation" with Gene Wilder
is priceless.
I just could not understand the choice of Rose M. and didn't enjoy her comments....but
that is what makes this forum fun. Lots of different opinions without animosity.(Sometimes

After Alec B. does his "gig", we will have our own opinions about his performance as well.

By George, I thought I had it!
The Oscar doesn't count, in my opinion, because he did not want it. He said he was waiting
for the real thing.
Alexander the Great - depends on your point of view.
As far as I am concern, we are dying a slow death. Pull the plug, already!!

I am so relieved you stepped in as I was starting to become afraid of those naughty students.
However, I have renewed courage and will be very pleased to join this class. I enjoyed my
course re: "voyeurism" and I am definitely looking forward to this new class.
AH, Love!
See you on Dec. 2nd. Bg
