I agree with "it depends". Sometimes I am reading a book which hasn't been made into a movie and find myself fitting actors into the characters in the book. I think "To Kill A Mockingbird" measures up to the book. I am a avid reader and there have been so many adaptations. I don't have a preference as far as what to do first, book or movie. I have seen ads for movies and decided to read the book before seeing the movie. Recently, I did that with "Atonement". So....it all depends.

This scene was mentioned in another thread a while ago, but I think it definitely fits here. The scene with Cary Grant & Walter Slezak in "People Will Talk" when they are eating the polish sausage and sauerkraut. My mother came from an Irish family with six kids and they had many "one-pot" meals and sausage, potatoes, & sauerkraut was one of them. In turn, my Mom made it for us and I love it to this day!!!

Alix....If you are"Rizzo", I can play "Sandy" without a problem. I can sing and I used to be a dancer, plus I had a nickname of "sugar & spice" in H.S. -

Is it "The Love Letter" (1998) starring Campbell Scott(love him) and Jennifer Jason Leigh? It was a Hallmark Hall of Fame theatre TV production. Just "google" THE LOVE LETTER 1998 & there are any number of sites for info. I hope this puts you out of your misery. Bargar

You did it again, Mongo! I have always liked Louis Hayward and have enjoyed all of his performances. "And Then There Were None" is a excellent movie with so many memorable roles. Judith Anderson, W. Huston, Barry Fitzgerald, Mischa Auer C.Aubrey Smith, Roland Young, June Duprez. Quite a cast and Mr Hayward held his own!

Thanks, mr6666! YOU understand my confusion. However, after the last post(Clue #2), I don't think we are guessing films at this point. Oh well.....Bg

Very good, mr6666!!! Coincidentally, I watched a double feature I had DVRd, one being "The 7th Victim" with H. Beaumont and the second movie was "Angels in the Outfield" (1951) in which Barb.Billingsley played an uncredited hat-check girl. (June & Ward Your turn next?

Hi Mongo! 'HOLD THAT GHOST" is one our favorite Abbott & Costello movies. Evelyn Ankers & Richard Carlson, as the token romantic couple, held their own with the crazies like A & C and Joan Davis. I also enjoy the "wolf man" movie with Claude Rains & Lon Chaney, Jr. In the horror genre, I think this film is well-crafted. I also give credit to L.C., Jr. as I thought his acting was well-done.

Thanks, Scsu... I will give it a try.

I like a little"beefcake" once in a while. I also like to watch the way a man walks and moves. For instance, I read a excerpt about JOEL MCCREA saying he was a very graceful man & I checked it out and discovered the writer was right. I think RAY MILLAND moved with grace, especially in "Dial M For Murder". GARY COOPER, TYRONE POWER, ROBERT TAYLOR, BASIL RATHBONE are a few more I also admire the athletic actors such as: BURT LANCASTER & ROBT. MITCHUM. As for elegance: FRED ASTAIRE, DAVID NIVEN, CLAUDE RAINS, ROBT.MONTGOMERY, CARY GRANT(also athletic & graceful), ADOLPH MENJOU. Sorry if I got off subject. I DO love GENE KELLY. He was a "tight" little package all rolled up into one.

One of my favorites is "SEANCE ON A WET AFTERNOON" (1965) It stars KIM STANLEY & RICHARD ATTENBOROUGH K.Stanley was nominated for an Oscar for best actress & won. It also had 7more wins & 3 nominations. I am not sure if I saw it on TCM or IFC. Regardless, it is a excellent film with major suspense and brilliant acting!
