I agree with everything that was posted so far. James Garner is a favorite of my whole family. What's not to love!? I think part of his longevity is due to his attitude toward "stardom". In his interviews he downplays his talent and I believe he is sincere. He said he just showed up and did his job. Very nicely, I'd say. BEST WISHES FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY, MR GARNER!!

I don't know what Dr.Jaquith could do for us, but Claude Rains could play soft, soothing music and read to me. He had such a melodius speaking voice. Ahhhh...

U - Liv Ullman - Actress directed in a few films by Ingmar Bergman. Came to America and did a few English-speaking films. (I saw her in a play by Harold Pinter. She was good, but the play was awful, in my opinion) I guess that's Harold Pinter for you.

Am I supposed to post a "six degrees of separation next" ? Let me know someone.

NO NO NO!!! I had a few people agree with me on Marlon B. So I don't need a bunker. HOWEVER, MovieL....Ingrid Bergman - please. We have very little in common. So back off, Cine...I am coming out of my foxhole and stand proud.

This is a toss-up. Ok...James Craig ROBERT PRESTON or PRESTON FOSTER

Cine...You are so right! Why would I want to get mixed up with that conglomeration of social misfits?!

Mongo - "own dirty laundry". That's so true. We could probably name quite a number of "scandals" from the "good old days".

Mongo...I have always been a fan of Paulette Goddard. I definitely think she would have made a good "Scarlett"especially after seeing her in "Reap the Wild Wind". She had the southern belle quality and feisty demeanor of Scarlett O'Hara in this movie. I knew about the controversy with Chaplin but did not realize it affected her chance to get role. Vivien Leigh wanted to play opposite Laurence Olivier in "Rebecca" but did this part instead. That's old Hollywood for you. The studios ruled! Message was edited by: Bargar

Miss Cinie, mam'. Not the "villagers"!!! I guess I will escape this thread before it is too late. Maybe Dr. Frankenstein can give me a room for the night!?

Considered it signed X. "Onward and Upward". You deserve all the praise you can get and that's not just empty "flattery" -
Guys' smiles: While I was waiting for my gorgeous husband with the drop-dead smile to finish cooking dinner(ahem!), I came up with these. JOHN PAYNE, PETER LAWFORD, VAN JOHNSON, RANDOLPH SCOTT. (Dinner was very "deliscioso"- Chicken, teriayki noodles, & salad)

ILRM - Of course we are obsessed. I notice, depending on their character, if they end their "ing" words with "ing or "in". ( taking/takin) Also, "ya" or "you".(wouldya/would you) Remember, it depends on the role they are playing. In a NUTshell, some of us are obsessed. How about group therapy on the forum? What am I saying, that's CRAZY!!!

Poinciana - I can't believe I'm doing it again, but I agree about Garbo! When she was quoted as saying "I want to be alone", I said OKAY! (Remember, Cine...I admire and respect you! Ouch, was that you?)
