*And it wasn't just Henry Ford that was Dearborn's problem.* Hi Andy, Ford was also known to pay higher wages than the going rate to his workers and that included black people. He did not discriminate against blacks when pay and benefits were concerned. He paid all his workers well. Have a great evening. I'm listening. Great picks but it's hard to be clever and beat the Beatles' early work... Really... Jake

It's your thread and I enjoy doing this and frankly don't know why but I also know I will come to a point where it bores me and I will move on. Right now I enjoy it. It's your call not mine but I've found it a great thread and enjoy looking at all the posts and just because I don't give 'em a thumbs up does not mean I do not like 'em. Jake

Diamond Jubilee - British Royalty in the Movies
JakeHolman replied to filmlover's topic in General Discussions
Hi Ham, Hope all is well with you. Of course, if you have read some history you would know The Great George Washington could have easily become a King in this country. Instead, he allowed the machinations to play out and with that a genius this world has not seen was produced. I think he knew he did not want to see the same old same old moribund results from descendants waiting around to assume the throne with little if any vigor and interest in the people or country. Truly, a great man and OUR FOUNDING FATHER. Jake in the Heartland -
Diamond Jubilee - British Royalty in the Movies

Personally, I am very happy that the ancestors of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, very British don't you know, were not a couple of dolts fresh off the boat. Of course, there is no way that could happen and the British gave us a ground work to speculate and formulate the most enlightened form of government this world has ever seen. Jake in the Heartland -
