  5. Hi Rey, *Do you not ever show anything but southern locales Jake?* Yes, I've already posted a few. *It just seems odd that many of the photos you have posted is just from the south. Thats all. Not being judgmental here. Actually the photos you have shown have been very interesting and beautiful* I was born and have lived the majority of my life in The South. I have lived in Colorado in a suburb outside of Denver called Aurora. Also, in Simi Valley, California. What would be more odd, to my way of thinking, would be to post pictures of states I never lived or had close relatives living in those states or traveled through. *Did you take these pictures yourself?* I'll never tell. Enjoyed your pictures of the West. The West is truly beautiful. Have a great weekend. Jake Edited by: JakeHolman on Jun 2, 2012 9:44 PM
  6. My granddaddy loved to squirrel hunt. He was a heck of a shot and very good at it. I've eaten some of his squirrel stew which I found delicious. He was known to bag a few rabbits, too. And of course, when in season, he was out deer hunting. He, and his many ancestors, were from Georgia. North of Atlanta. My father, too and Mother. And me. And very very proud of those hicks... 12. Within Hebrew Cemetery is a plot known as the Soldier's Section. It contains the graves of 30 Jewish Confederate soldiers who died in or near Richmond. It is the only Jewish military cemetery outside of the State of Israel. The cemetery is maintained by Congregation Beth Ahabah, a Reform congregation founded in Richmond in 1789. http://www.jewish-history.com/civilwar/shockoe.htm Jake in the Heartland Edited by: JakeHolman on May 30, 2012 11:37 PM
  13. Hi ugaate, The entrance you inquired about has etched in the stone: Fort Morgan and below it 1836. Yes, those pictures are from the same Fort Morgan. If you ever get a chance, investigate the Alabama Gulf Coast. Florida gets the press about its beaches but Gulf Shores and surrounding beaches are just as good if not better. Plus, Mobile is not too far away and it has a very deep history, too. Liked your picture and Fort Morgan is on the water or Gulf of Mexico. Jake

  15. *Geez, I've been away for awhile.* *Jake, some happy Beethoven for you. His 8th Symphony, 1st movement. (no video but nice background.* Yes sir you have but that's ok. No big deal. What wonderful clips from the Big B. I've posted some of my time in the Nevada desert on another thread which is truly beautiful and I wish I had the Big B with me to listen to while I observed God's creation. Thank you for the post. I posted my top 10 Beatle's songs and I know you know, frankly, More about the Beatles than I do. So, if you like, post your top 10 Beatles' songs. Suggestion, do it over time and not all at once if you decide to move forward. If not, that's ok. too. Jake
