  3. I'm a little off topic here but, what the heck creativity reigns here, Cobb is Jones' best performance in my way of thinking. Someone mentioned he's cool. In this, he is not. I like it not because he's a Southerner but because it's a great performance. His best performance... Jake in the Heartland

  6. *Casablancalover: I stand corrected; I might have cast the net too narrowly. I’ve not seen all the movies you mentioned but from what I know they deal with good people trying to overcome situations that most folks would link with evil. As Francis of Assisi told his band; “Preach the Gospel, use words when necessary”*. Hi Star, Star you're a big girl and you can take of yourself. But most reasonable people knew what your intent was meant to represent. So, please don't feel you have to rationalize or apologize to those people. Jake in the Heartland

  8. {color:black}*That Hollywood made the film so moving rather than cynical is something that would never happen today.* Ah, Star, you and I are so far, far apart and yet so close... Ditto Jake in the Heartland

  15. > {quote:title=JackFavell wrote:}{quote}Oh yummy! That sounds great. Muffuletta is good too, I love olives. There's nothing like a good New Orleans' Muffuletta. Really good if done right. If you ever get a chance, you might want to check these out the next time you are there. I once worked at the Bud's Broiler on Veterans. I served the the Saints during their training camp. The burgers are charbroiled and are cooked over real charcoal. It's a New Orleans tradition. Take care Wendy... http://www.budsbroiler.com/history.shtml http://www.parkwaypoorboys.com/Parkway_Bakery_Tavern_New_Orleans_LA.html Jake
  16. Where are ya Otis? Come forward and defend your man Ben Ladeen. God, every time I think of the bullet or bullets that ripped through his worthless body in Pakistan and then ship his arse to the ocean and drop him to the sharks makes me feel so good. I'm a Southerner who had friends who were killed while working in those twin towers. I was in both of them at one time. They were Yankees but I loved 'em and they are gone because of that worthless... Jake in the Heartland
  17. > {quote:title=ValentineXavier wrote:}{quote}If I were a PETA member, I'd accuse you of condoning the poisoning of sharks... Well, anyone who knows anything about Louisiana and Lafayette, I still will communicate and, from time-to-time, agree with 'em. B-)

And the beignets. And everything else too. Me, too. I ain't fancy. I love shrimp and oyster po-boys. But I especially love a New Orleans roast beef po-boy fully dressed with gravy that drips from the po-boy. Take care Wendy...the best to you and your family... Jake
