The problem is when you have "Revolver" and "Rubber Soul" right after it it's easy to get lost in a shuffle. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" is a favorite but side two has some fine McCartney with "I've Just Seen A Face" and "Yesterday > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > .

Jake's easy down and dirty beef stroganoff in the crock pot. Throw in a can of cream of mushroom and french onion soup. Then add a pound of beef stew meat. I have used other kinds of beef. It's, of course, at your discretion. Let her simmer for 6 to 8 hours on low and make sure you have some corn starch or flour to thicken her up a little bit if you desire. Pour over noodles or rice or whatever. And, of course, add other ingredients like carrots, onions and so on if you like. Good eatin' Jake in the Heartland

> {quote:title=JackFavell wrote:}{quote}Wow! I've never heard of them before. Hi Wendy, I was poring over some paperwork a few weeks ago while listening to a local FM station *late* one night. That's when FM stations have a disc jockey on who delves into music that is not heard every day for commercial reasons. I have heard of them before but not for a very long time and they did have a hit. Hope all is well with you and your family and it's cold down here and I bet it's even colder where you are? Here's one I think you have heard of and I remember them, too. Jake

I find it interesting that you who hold yourself out as above the fray in political discussions would decide to weigh in on this one. There are articles written about this episode that question whether Reagan actually said these things attributed to him by rover. Jake in the Heartland

> {quote:title=mrroberts wrote:}{quote}Keeping in mind the recent posting by the TCM administrator concerning getting too heavy into politics (unless it pertains directly to a film role or storyline) , and I completely agree with that stance. So with no political inference on my part I must say that Ronald Reagan was definitely a mediocre actor (group him with a number of other good looking manly types who couldn't act worth a darn) but could do supporting roles or go to tv and play sitcom dads. If Mr Reagan didn't switch careers and become a successful politican would anyone be reminiscing about his past film career? Remember now, I am only commenting on Reagan the actor here. Well, we do Mr.Goody Two Shoes appreciate Ronald Reagan's acting skills and just because you say it ain't so, don't make it so. I read your post Michael but this guy needs to be responded to from time-to-time. Jake in the Heartland

I'd love see two oldies but goodies like Unconquered and Distant Drums with Coop kickin' butt and takin' names. Could be wrong but I think PC might have something to do with not showin' 'em. Jake in the Heartland

> {quote:title=Fedya wrote:}{quote}But if it's based on work by Doris Kearns Goodwin, will it really be historical? *NO* She comes to conclusions based on physiological interpretations. Better said: she makes things up and is a total Court Historian hack. We will get the politically correct narrative from the movie. You would think the movie would be based on the works of a true historian like James M. McPherson who is very liberal but at least he is a historian with depth. Jake in the Heartland
