You may not like *The Wild Bunch* as a film but Jerry Fielding's score is quite good and quite moving in many places. I know exactly what you are discussing and I stand by everything I just said lady...

I remember Joan Baez from the sixties. Wow, time goes fast. You know, Donovan is not in the R&R Hall of Fame. That's absurd--considering some who have gotten in compared to him. I've read that he was an imitation to Dylan. Not so. Two entirely different kinds of approaches. He's been called sappy and sentimental. Don't agree. Some of his songs are innovative--Mellow Yellow and Season of the Witch just to name a few. John Lennon and the Beatles thought very highly of him. I like him better than Dylan. The Hall of Fame is not an end all. Here's one from Emerson, Lake and Palmer...take care... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gm1OJ0LAgt4 Jake
  7. My Man: George Strait. A great man with the same wife and loyal to his family. Loves to fish, as I do, and loves America... THE KING OF COUNTRY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3CWNLhW140 Jake
  8. Ah, Harry Nilsson...maybe a musical genius as some think... Can't say I'm his biggest fan but I do like some of his presentations. When in the "mood", I really like Jump Into The Fire... Hope all is well JF... Your friend Jake.
  9. Let's let our hair down and get on the dance floor and let 'er rip... Harry Nilsson... Jake
  10. JF, I agree. The Band is a better band and their rendition of The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down is better, too but the Crowes are very good... That's some very good stuff...great music...no reason for me to post... Let's let your picks ride for a while. Jake

Tom is a Southern boy who is typical with a hair-trigger temper. I can be that way myself at times. It's in the genes... Here's one from the Black Crowes: better than the Band? Jake
  12. Moving ahead rapidly...Depeche Mode...some 80's movin' and groovin'... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rdfFroO67g Jake
  13. > {quote:title=JackFavell wrote:}{quote} > Is there anything she couldn't do? JF, I'm sure if we were to meet her we would find out she is as human as you and I but with gifts or talents that were "discovered" that allowed her to become a Hollywood star. I believe Charles Laughton had a lot to do with her exposure and career. And I'm certainly glad that happened. I once read she thought singing was her number one love and not acting. I like her voice and of course her acting. She is one of my favorite all time actresses and her roles in The Quiet Man and Rio Grande are some of my very favorites. There are nuances in those roles I don't think are readily seen by all viewers. But that is for another thread. You take care JF and keep on... Jake
  14. A tribute to a stunning, classy, beautiful woman, Maureen O'Hara... Happy St Pats Jake

I really like the one with the Sea Turtles...very mellow...never knew... Moby Grape was a band that never lived up to its commercial potential. The band had bad management, bad decisions and bad luck. But what the heck. It still played some great music and not all bands make it big. And in no way does that diminish its talent and music. Here's a couple of Moby Grape's better songs. Jake
  16. Tarzan and His Mate... Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan "I belong with him." A lot of women go through life and never figure that out...
  17. > {quote:title=JackFavell wrote:}{quote} > I love Leadbelly. Thanks! Hi JF, He was a very interesting man with passions and demons, as all men, but who left a legacy with Blues and Rock and Roll that is indelible. The song I posted I played over and over. I really liked it and I will re-visit his music again in the future. I promise. Here's a band from the sixties and please post any "eclectic" song or tastes you might have...
