  1. >The belief, held by most Republicans, is that Ronnie is responsible for bringing down the USSR by out-producing them militarily, and they bankrupted themselves trying to keep up. The "tear down this wall" thing was just window dressing. Since this in not the place for politics, I'll stop on that subject.

    Ha, Ha, Ha....

The Great Man brought down the Evil Empire with our military might and dogged determination.

SDI scared Gorby and he knew his system was on the way out. They were broke and with no energy left.

    Ronald Reagan beat 'em...

  2. >*Unless we can move 'em, I'm broke. I'm not gonna take it haunch-backed like the rest around here. There's no market for cattle in Texas. Then I'll take 'em where there is a market, if it means drivin' them a thousand miles.*

  3. >*Ten years and I'll have the Red River D on more cattle than you've looked at anywhere. I'll have that brand on enough beef to feed the whole country. Good beef for hungry people. Beef to make 'em strong and make 'em grow. But it takes work and it takes sweat and it takes time. Lots of time. It takes years.*

  5. "It's the economy, stupid"....spoken by Bill Clinton's chief campaign strategist James Carville. That's why I posted the 1984 election results.

Ronald Reagan took over from Jimmy Carter's administration which was an economic mailaise of high inflation and unemployment.

Jobs and prosperity resulted from Reagan's actions.

And, since TCM Admin has warned us not to make this totally political, I will not go any further...

A man will search his heart and soul

    Go searchin' way out there

His peace of mind he knows he'll find

But where, O Lord, Lord where?

    Ride away, ride away.

  7. John Wayne is arguably the most popular leading man in Hollywood history.

You can talk to me about Brando, Bogart, Tracy and others but not one of them has the overall appeal to moviegoers as The Duke. That stands to this day after his death. Duke still lives.

As a side note, I unequivocally love John Wayne's politics and I wish there were more like him in Hollywood today.

  8. That was very nice music CBL...I like it...
