  1. One parting shot...

Before the World Series began, Jimmy Rollins, the Phillies' shortstop, boasted the Phillies would beat the immortal NY Yankees in five games. There was even talk that the Phillies wanted to humiliate the immortal NY Yankees.

My only regret about the Series is that the Yankees did not pour on more runs in the games they won and leave the Philles clobbered and senseless and in eternal fear of the Yankees going forward.

In the end, the so-called Senior Circuit's representative did not have the cojones to cross the white lines and play a team like the NY Yankees. They seemed subdued when being interviewed in their locker room after game six. Hee...Hee..Hee...

*The New York Yankees are the holders of 27 World Series Championships.*

    >Real baseball isn't played in the American League. The Designated Hitter makes it a welfare state for grown men who're too old, slow, inept or stupid to play a defensive position and pitchers who are too delicate or terrified to face an opposing pitcher with a bat in their hands.

Ha, Ha, Ha,...such purist nonsense...that's what NL fans say and yet the rules are the same for each league when they play each other...

Prior to the Designated Hitter, the NY Yankees feasted on the NL's representatives with 27 championship titles and I can assure you flim flam, they did not cower on bit from any National League challenger. Sure they lost some, but most they won and with good reason: They were superior...

It might surprise you to know I did not favor the designated hitter rule or the playoffs but they are here and are not going away. And I don't like inter-league play. The designated hitter is for more offense and to bring in more fans to keep the game offensive and interesting. The thinking is to make baseball less boring. The playoffs are the same and for TV revenues. College baseball now uses the designated hitter. It won't change.

Baseball made these changes, the playoffs, to compete with the NFL.

But, please remember, the NY Yankees won many a championship prior to any of these changes. They just adapted and moved on with the times.

  3. >I don't believe I wrote STUPID in my statement about John Wayne. Everyone has their opinions and I stated MINE. He was not a good actor. Thank you.

That's right and I stated my opinion and you chose to respond and I did the same in kind.

There are a few of us here who disagree with you about John Wayne.

This ain't the 3 word critic thread and if you respond to my post again, I will respond to you.

    Opinions vary...

John Wayne in The Searchers, Red River and Rio Grande, just to name a few, delivers some of the best acting Hollywood has ever produced. There are many more movies, too...

When you say John Wayne was not a good actor, you are right. He was not a good actor. He was a great, great actor who to this day is listed as one of America's favorites when polls are conducted asking who is a person's favorite actor--still, after all these years. I guess you just think the people are stupid, eh?

    Please come close and listen:
