Hi Lynn,
Remotely, and I do mean remotely. I only remembered him because your post jogged my memory.
Chet Atkins is the guy I think of when I think of an old-time guitarist.
I took a little time and read about him and, wow, what a great guitarist he was/is and he had a tremendous influence on other rock musicians such as George Harrison and others. I really like his style of playing.
Thank you for your post and, as always, teaching all of us something that is very interesting.
By the way, your other posts were good, too. And, remember, it's not whether I like the music that counts: it's whether you like it....and there are bound to be others who like it, too.

I remember watching these guys on the Ed Sullivan show many a time. They were as popular as the Beatles for a brief period of time and they sold over 100 million records worldwide.
I kid you not.

My Daddy was a pretty good guitar player himself and we had Chet's singles and albums in our home, too. A lot of Southern homes did.
