>We can't forget Laura Nyro - such talent - gone too soon.
You know, I must admit I know nothing about her so I took a little time and read about her.
Seems she was a very good song writer with many hits. She was/is very good.

>Here are two Joni songs I really like:

I remember my mother, sister and ex-girlfriend being very excited to see this guy. They would stand in long lines, sometimes, to see him in concert.
I never was a big fan of his but these two are OK...Rod Stewart...

>*For you, Jake, brave soldier that you are and keeper of the past:*
Lynn,
Thank you for the post and picture.
I just got through watching the movie Gettysburg again and, while I don't agree with its interpretation of events entirely, I do think it is a very good movie, nonetheless.
The scene when Richard Jordan is killed making the valiant charge at the yankees is very moving.

>You have the most eclectic taste in music. Amazing.
Hi Chris,
It's not really amazing...
I've lived a little bit...over 50...and each, and every one of these posts I make, I have heard the music before...many times...I love Neil Diamond...
I liked Lynn's last post even though I don't pretend to know a lot about Mr Stewart...
Please feel free to join in with your own posts at any time.

Lynn,
We are honored to have you post on this thread and we hope you will continue to do so in the future.
Your life experiences, and that is what music is, are truly appreciated.
I really liked the Amazing Grace and City of New Orleans clips. They pulled at my emotional chords.

Jake's off topic music thread...
