daddysprimadonna, wow..i didnt know that..so Norma did that movie to..i would loove to see it...i just saw it for the first time yesterday with Joan...interesting u said u liked Normas version better...again i havent seen it..but i was thinking when i was watching it wow..what a great part for Joan..it would take someone like Joan to do it...hmmmmm..interesting..i cant see Norma in that kind of role..that untrusting coldness..hmmmm...lol...now youve got me chomping at the bit to see Norma..lol..well maybe someday... and yes i agree she was a ladys lady Norma..what i call a REAL WOMAN! Hey All, I just had to comment on the movie i watched this morning Desperate Hours!!! Greaaaaaaaaaat movie! I as well loved the fathers role and his triumph for his family in the end..and Bogie what can i say..is there any role this man cant play...lol...hes great! ty TCM Ava

tobitz.. i soooo apprecaite your comments...i dont want to go in to this to much anymore..no offence to u..but i will say as far as the comment about the husband in the documenatry u are mistaken..thats not the one im talking about,....i am answering u only(one more time) beacuse u were so thoughtful on your thoughts to me...it was her husband..and she belittled her LITTLE boy chris in front of a group of ppl at her house and he got very angry and said to her dont belittle the boy in front of ppl and yes it was her husband...she was mean..i would never do that to my little boy if i had one, i dont know aboput u but i wouldnt... anyway that is MY last word on this matter again u all can watch the documentary for yourselves to me there is NEVER an exscuse for child abuse..NEVER again thank you for your decent comments to me..i appreciate any support i can get....lol.. Great name first off...lol....well said...thats exactly how i feel about her as an actress compared to Joan...i get the same feeling..but i am staying away from Joan...lol...but u said it so well daddys...im hope they dont come down on u hun...lol...i know if i said something like that about Joan..(NOT that u said anything bad) but form me they would tear it up...anyway well said i totally agree...those scenes in Women with Joan on the phone annoyed me too..but in all fairness to her i think she wanted us to be annoyed..that was Joan..as i said yesterday that character she played had NO redeeming qualities...and yes Joan was much more intense then Norma...Norma shined..Joan scowered..there seemed to always be a chill behind everything she did... And as far as Mrs,Cheney i said in one of my threads yesterday but it was looked over.....lol...she was great and in that role there were moments where u could see Joans soul........and yes that was early in her career.. hey butterscotch! Im great this mornin..ty hun! I love of course The Way We Were..oh my gosh...marvelous her and redford......A Star Is Born...Marvelous!!!! Babs in her prime for sure...she was to me in her own way gorgoues....HELLO GORGOUES!...heehee..lol... I just love her...i so appreciate TCMs respect fopr her, they always play her movies which i love...they know a good thig when they see it,....lol.....as far as her personal life (which i really dont like to ponder to much) u know keep it all in perspective kind of thing...they are seperate...but scince u brought it up...lol...im very happy for her NOW...she has FINALLY found someone who she will spend the reat of her life with and that is PRICELESS!! Dont we all wish that even late in lfe...well i know i do!!!! lol...anyway shes given soooooooooo much to Cinema..to us..that she deserves that! Im happy for her there..she waited a looooong time for that.. anyway thanks for the memorys again Ava :-)

Ty Ray.... i was getting nervous there noone undertsood my marvelous comments about her...YES i looove it when she says that!!! Its like the whole movie her character was leading up to that climactic point ya know..and booooy did she deliver!!!! I honestly can say i think she truly was one of the best when she was talking to her daughter..sooooooooo compassionate,..u do understand what i mean when i say that word right? God i hope....lol...where that answer about camera angles came from?????? lol..i have no idea.. anyway,her EYES had compassion in them...im sure u get it Ray....lol.. anyway glad u feel the way i do..she deserves it.. ty AVA :-)

Ray hard to say for me..i really loved them both and knowing that they were sisters made it even more interesting for me..but i must say the movies that Joan did i liked them better then Olivias...ummm my all time fav was Rebecca...just LOVED that movie and the one Joan did with Cary Grant...Suspicion..Fantastic..i guess i could say Joan better..but Olivia was wonderful in Gone With The Wind..though hard to say for me,.,she was the best in it..Vivian Leigh stole the show..my opinion.. ty Ava Message was edited by: AvaG92260 Message was edited by: AvaG92260
