randy Noone..there is NOONE who ever could play Scarlett OHara..like Vivian Leigh did..in my opinion...when they were casting Scarlett..every actress then u could think of auditioned including the great Bette Davis...even she could not match what Vivian Leigh brought and they were all passed on...i think that speaks volumes for Ms.Leigh..she was truly a beauty and as raw as they come as far as acting...truly my second favorite actress... ty Ava Message was edited by: AvaG92260

Theodora, i dont understand what u said,,u said hes underrated..,,u would not watch a movie just cause hes in it? It doesnt sound like you have watched any of his movies then? yet u know hes underated> Sorry just doesnt make scense to me...personally i would watch anything i saw his name in..any movie..beacue i know that hes a great actor! Yes...Mogambo was great but there wasnt enuff of her...lol..i mean her role was rather small in that but great...she was always good to me anyway..but yea she was good in that.. Ava!

I have now purchased it from our beloved TCM...its on its way...i already own my second choice.."The Barefoot Contessa"....i have a amazing beautiful signed photo of Ava framed in on my wall. the picture was Franks..and was in his office..he gave it to my dad...and there ya goo..its now mine :-) My dad had a story with that picture..my dad was in Franks office with him and Frank got all of a sudden crazy about ava as he did and through a glass of whatever he was drinking at that picture..theres still a bit of a stain from the drink on the picture...lol..my dad said just one of the many outburst over that woman ..but its neat to have the origianl print with her signature on it..right out of Franks office..and yes it was really neat meeting him..i found him funny..charming and sheesh he was my girlsl love of her life..and he hers.. what is your favorite movie by Ava? Hi Ya Miss Goddess, im so glad to hear u say that you have read her biography and u have that other perception of her...the Correct one....sorry if i sounded a bit abrupt..but i am firm believer on learning about a person from them if possible....and of course when it comes to Ava...well i don't need to say anymore..lol..thanks for the time u put in to this thread on Ava,,i think its very sweet and very kind as well....also as far as her being the most natural...i agree..but she wasnt really a "natural? actress u know what i mean..i mean i think her incredible beauty made it hard for her to be THAT...u understand? but yea to me she was the most natural person ..or shall i say REAL actress back then to..and ty for the mention about my dad..he passed away last year and i miss him terribly...when he passed he took alotta great stories with him thank god he was able to pass them to me..well most of them...lol...and yes i loooved Frank to....i met him twice once when i was 13 and once again when i was 25...he was a great entertainer and he had a really good sense of humor i remember... anyway thanks again for Ava :-) Ava Message was edited by: AvaG92260

Hi All, well first night with the new co-host i was as unsure as alot of you about her...but heres my opinion..i like her! I think shes very diffrent from what i expected..shes charming but not to charming..shes pretty but not to pretty...she speaks very well..she sounds like shes really intuned to the movies..the chemistry with her and RO i think its great..i think they suit each other well..and its actually nice for us 30 somethings,...lol...ppl to see someone around this generations era as well..talking about these wonderful classic movies!! Miss Goddess.... i didnt know u were such a fan of Ava Gardners..i havent heard u mention her once yet..till now...anyway i must say as nice as this is..the book your talking about by Lee S is terrible..in my opinion..all his information is NOT from Ava first off..he claims..i have been following Ava for years..Ava wrote her OWN biography before she died...she had a terrible stroke..and was paralyzed on one side..she had to literally crawl around her apt...Scinse she was half paralyzed she had to make tapes..MANY tapes and she did..recorded tapes in her own words and that is how she wrote her OWN biography so if u want to learn anything about Ava..learn it from her own words..and Ava Gardner would never have said Love is Terrible...well she may have said it..but didnty mean it....She adored life and LOVE...she knew both completly had it real ruff in the end but she knew what she was..and she wouldnt have changed a thing.... So forgive me..but u have to hear from her noone else.....As well as my father knew Ava.....well my father and Frank were very good freinds..and through there freindship through the years he met Ava many a time...my father told me many a thing about Ava....well at least his take on her..what he thought of her... anyway, those are some pretty pictures..but it doesnt sound like Ava to me.. ty Ava
