yes i agree the writing has been on the wall for quite some time now...ive been saying it for the last couple months.....and i guess there is nothing we can do about it...but im still going to voice my opinion an d who knows maybe we will all get back our beloved TCM..it cant hurt to try..
To me, TCM THROWING in a classic now and then...(thats how i see it coming)..is NOT going to work for me thats what AMC does...oh well...i will keep hopeing...

how nice of u to offer but i havent been having a bad week i would say that TCM has been having a bad week a VERY bad week and they topped it off even worse......sooooo scinse i do come here for TCM format NOT AMC... yea i guess i think it kinda sucks but it is what it is..soooo like my freind FRED... i will watch DVDS to for the rest of the night.....and as far as Shirely Temple i dont know what u are talking about...u mean that..... who likes to critisize everyone and everything...u mean that person i have had on ignore for over a month now..hes not bothering me anymore....and as far as MY week..i had a GREAT week...tyvm..

remember about a month or so back we all had that discussion because there were a few movies ppl were concerned about and ppl were concerned that TCM would change there format to AMC...and i forget who but someone was reassuring us that wont happen....anyway..IT DID.....every movie played tonight is a AMC movie...everyone....and this is not the first time either...i just want my old tcm back dont u?

that is the ultimate last straw......YES letters of iowa jima a VERYa good movie it should be on TCM.....but instead we are going over to AMC....u hear that TCM......in all seriousness TCM is not what it use to be.....i would say in the last month the format started to change...i mean they played The Natural tonight....Ok....a VERY good movie but.....ON TCM?...and then in to Paper Moon..in to Hukelberry Finn...in to New York New York....its like the programmer..forgive me is on crack...lol....i mean no joke..The format IS changeing...NO dought...and ive been saying this for the last month...till now this...on a Saturday night yet....anyone want to be BRAVE...finally and speak up for our beloved TCM.....please....look at this line up....how do u go from The Natural, To Paper Moon, To Hukelberry Finn..its just BIZARRE! And even worse its NOT TCM format...

yup..i can see what your sayin about Gable...i mean the thing with Gable i think is...Hes really all about the woman...lol...u feel me....heehee...he appeals i think more to a the women audience then a man...and YES..my favorite Gable movie is..(besides GWTW)heehee...is It Happened One Night as i mentioned....Great Movie and i just loved him in it and Claudette..i think they had the BEST chemistry!! Im glad we agree.....feeeeeew!...lol..

How u doin hun....First.u dont seem very thrilled with Magambo for Any reason...lol..im curious why? And now i will tell u my pick..MAGAMBO...lol....big suprise huh?....I dont like African Queen really much it was just ok to me........sooooo i will tell u why i like Magambo....First the actors..Clark Gable....great in this movie!! Ummmmmm whatz that gorgoues actresses name in it...hmmmm..oh yea..Ava Gardner...shes TOTALLY hot!....heehee...and i just love the story..that wonderful love triangle, Gables character dealing with his middle age....lol....plus they actually went on location to Africa..and that was beautiful....i mean how can u really go wrong with Gable, Gardner. Kelly and Africa as a backdrop.....a winning hand right there PLUS a great director...

I wanted to comment on Ritas danceing that u had mentioned, yes Rita was a beautiful dancer, here is a little backround for ya on the beauty........Rita actually started danceing with her family...Her whole family were in a troupe and they use to travel and dance all over the country...that is how Rita started actually in show biz...lol...and then she broke off with that and danced in some choruses on her own and the rest as they say is history!! And oooooooh what a history...i just love her.....whats not to love....heehee

ty for asking Robboy!! First off i ADORE Rita as a matter a fact in the most beautiful woman poll that ILoveRay did..Rita is number 3 in my top 3!! I thought she was just stunning!! As ive mentioned so many times before to me its MORE then just beauty on the outside..there MUST be something on the inside, as i said i like to think its in the eyes...and to me Rita just ooozed sentuality, sexuality, and i would like to say instead of the word sadness, vulnerability. With Rita her life was alot like my Avas...oops..thats Ava Gardner robboy...lol..we havent met yet..shes my number 1 on the list..heehee....as i was saying..there lives entwined alot..in the end..sadly they both took to drink and had MANY bad relationships as far as men...these were two women always searching for that one thing we all want....love...... ironiclly it seems to be always the BEAUTIFUL ones..the VERY beautiful ones who do have these kinds of very lows and very highs in there lives......that is just the price i guess for being SO beautiful...silly it sounds but its TRUE...also as i say, is it what it is.....
In case u are wondering my second most beautiful is Vivain Leigh....and ironiclly again saaaame story...except thatViv poor thing basiclly lost her MIND in the end and could not be controlled...but no matter what these 3 ladies in my view were the tops of beauty, sexiness, sensuality, vulnerability, to me they had the WHOLE package!!
btw...i own GILDA ..and must watch it at least once every couple weeks....heehee!

Sadly i totally agree but its not just the spots that have changed latley, its as well the programming..BIG time has changed.......the movies are really lacking..in the actors the movies themselves ive been saying it for weeks now..so it would make sense that the spots are diffrent as well, that just goes to show that they have changed programmers period,..whomever is programming whatever is shown on TCM needs to be removed in my opinion....ive been saying it for weeks and it just doesnt get better..sad..i havent watched a movie on TCM in over a week...soooooo..anyway hopefully it will get better...As far as Frank there showing that one alot because its about to start..and that will be the best clan of movies ttte Dhey have shown scinse Bette Davis....

all this talk on beautiful women......NOT one person (well except for me) heehee..has mentioned the GORGOUES..SEXY..CRAZY SEXY...lol....Ms.Virginia Mayo.....
Ms.Mayo is best know for her musicals to be more exact her many movies she did with the incomprable..Danny Kaye...she was always the girl Danny wanted to get...she was also the BEAUTY that Bob Hope wanted in the very entertaining Casanova...... just to mention a few for those of u who can not put the face to the name.......
She also was a pretty good actress not great ..but NEVER boring!!! Sheeeeeesh u could look at her ALL DAY AND NIGHT....lol....what a beauty...when she spoke and looked at u with those eyes (cat eyes again just like viv)....but again it wasnt JUST beauty with any of the actresses i have mentioned except..Hedy Lamar..she was beauty until she spoke and then it all went out the window at least for me.. BTW... i happen to know in private there are more ppl agreeing with me about Hedy then not....just some ppl dont want the confrontation and i dont blame them....ME i could care less thats there problem..i will ALWAYS speak my mind! Its a free country! lol....
Anyway i thought of all the beautys we all are mentioning she deserves FULL attention....heehee

i totally agree..i looked at the title of the thread..like what the???? When i opened it and read it i was totally confused...just strange...
anyway im sorry to hear that she passed..i dont think she did much in her acting career that everyone would know, other then that very small part in Casablanca...but its still sad when someone passes....unfortunatly i cant really comment on her acting abilitys scinse thats all ive seen her in, BUT she did go to my old highschool,..Beverly High...that was interesting to hear....well again sorry to hear..RIP
