  5. Hey Theresa,

i just wanted to put my 2 cents in here.....lol...i totally love Pride and Prejudice! First off i read the book and loved it...then i looved the version with Greer and Olivier..and YES a TRUE romance if ive ever seen one and i am a true romantic at heart!....lol.....i also saw the version with peirce Bronson and thought is stunk...of course i am not a fan of his anyway, the only other version i saw of Pride was the most recent with the AMAZINGLY beautiful Keira Knightly! And i must say that had to be MY personal fav of it...no dought.....but Greers version was mighty close..well i guess i loved it the same ..its just they were made in such diffrent eras...well 1940 to 2007...BIG diffrence.. i thought the movies was sooooooo well done.and i am a VERY big fan i must admit of Keira Knightly.. First off she is JUST GORGOUES....plus she can act to!!! !!!! A good thing to have both.....lol..... and i must add a very RARE thing today for sure!!!

Anyway theres my thoughts...i know that Theresa is not some crazed lunatic so i can comment on her threads....heehee...lol..

    ty sweetie

ps i sent u those pics...let me know what ya think of him....heehee

  6. Frank,

Cool i picked the right one....heehee........yuppers good acting from the man they called ..the man with the golden voice!

as far as the lessons u need to learn.....ayntime hun! I aim to please....lol...no seriously when it comes to Frank i happen to know quite alot of little tid bits....as i mentioned before my dad and he were freinds way baaack in the day....so my dad had some great stories about Frank....he only had the best things to say about him though...with all the mobster talk that surrounded Frank.....he did have his involvement with the underground....all in all he was a VERY generous, beyond a fault...very funny, quick witted man ....and loyal to his freinds and family till the end...including the love of his life Ava..:-)

Anyhoot im here if u need anything else....lol..

  7. Hi ya Frank!

yes i do agree alot of ppl did not consider him a great actor or maybe even a good actor..but u know what i say... so what...i mean hes FRANK SINATRA!......lol.....my point is that was not his cup of tea....i think he prooved he could do it...which i know he wanted to do..and as i said he prooved it by winning the award...which btw if it wasnt for AVA...heehee...he never would have even gotten the role if it wasnt for her..She made the call to the director and she begged to please give Frank the role role, being Ava Gardner well she did have mega clout.....lol....he obliged Ava and Frank not only got the roll but he kiiled it...and won the award...cool story huh? Love conquers all....heehee

BTW.......loooooove those pics ...are those from Man with the golden Arm or Pal Joey...i know Kim was in Pal Joey..but i think she was in The Man with the golden arm to...so i think there from that am i right?

  8. TikiSoo,

Great points!!! I like the one about Viv for sure....lol.....absolulty she would be the first Ms.DeWinter....heehee....and i bet Hitchcock thought so to..alas....no Vivan Leigh, Joan Fontaine who i must say is just LOVLEY....a very good actress and lovley as well....

ty TikiSoo, again great points made!

  9. hey GeneKGirl,

First off i think Gene Kelly isTHE greatest song and dance man ever!... There was always the talk comparing he and Fred Astaire...to me Gene Kelly i liked better then Fred...in every way! I absolutly loved him in An American In Paris! I loved Gene in all his movies.....i could watch him dance forever...and was he gorgoues! Oh my.....lol..

Anyway......Pal Joey was GREAT! You are going to love it.....as well u will love Rita Hayworth and Kim Novaks performances...theres a scene in it when Kim sings "Funny Valentine" beautiful!

And dont worry i am SURE in the 35 movies ect that they play, u can almost guarantee that Pal Joey will be one of them! Certainly one of my favs by Frank...but i am a HUGE Sinatra fan so i like em all.....heehee

    Enjoy!

  11. TripleHHH,

GREAT movie...it was one of Hitchcocks earlier films, but Olivier and Joan Fontaine...great! I happen to own this one it is part of my collection! A little trivia for for ya, Olivier from the time he got the role wanted His wife the incredibly beautiful Vivian Leigh for the lead role, Hitchcock let her test but in the end no way he said basiclly that Viv was just to beautiful for the part and that noone is going to beleive that she is this moust girl noone wants......just isint going to work...well we all know the end Joan got the role, at great dismay to Olivier i mus add and she prooved to be PERFECT in it, and Hitchcock was right....

Olivier was known for always haveing Viv around wanting her in his movies..making a fuss if she wasnt.....but i mean can u really blame him....lol...

Anyway just a little trivia for ya....Enjoy Rebecca...i know i do every time i watch it

  15. bronxgirl,

funny u say that, its the same with my mom....lol..she adores him! And yes as well so do i...bjut she grew up with him..met him....lol...must have been pretty neat...anway yes the movies they showed yesterday were FAR from ANY of his hits....the movie u mentioned yes he was ALL wrong for that movie..plus the movie stank..i thought, but thats why its not one of his (or even close) in the arena of his repetoire....saying that i higly reccomend u checking out the movies i mentioned if u want to see Bill Holden in all his glory..appreciate the work that made him famous! Makes sense to me...

    ty for your thoughts Bronxgirl
