Charlie Chaplin...The Life The Art of Charlie..
AvaG92260 replied to AvaG92260's topic in General Discussions
Fred, of all ppl i cant belive that u brought that up..Joan...well put it this way what they were saying is were ALL flawed...we dont BEAT the heck out of our kids and torture them....no he didnt do that from what his kids said from what his freinds said..NOTHING but praise.... He drank, he had his own normal demons, growing old, scared these kinds of things....he didnt intentionally hurt other ppl....UNDERSTAND...like his OWN children...They had 3 of his children speaking and not 1 of them a bad word..not 1..actally not 1 bad word from anyone except that he had affiars and liked young girls......All they said was how kind and GENTLE he was..TOTALLY diffrent from how they talked about Joan..she was NOT a sympethetic person AT ALL.... in life period to anyone...And Fred arent u the one who said to me They have been saying these things about Joan for years? Anyway to bad u missed it it was great..but i have to say i am shocked at u Fred., but i know better now.....thats all im going to say... see u just never know over the internet...hmmmmm Ty again TCM..the documentary was fantastic, for such a beloved and gentle man! AvaG -
Hey All, wow....there ya go again TCM with another winning documentary!! Amazing..i just finished watching the documentary here on TCM on Charlie...it was GREAT..I mean TCM really knows how to do a FULL documentary on someones life..from beggining to end!! All the way...i must be honest i never really appreciated or watched Charlie Chaplins work..TILL now....this man was a genius a master at his craft! From the physical comedy to his actual acting...i have to say as well i watched talking picture i had ever seen with Charlie today....Limelight! with the BEAUTIFUL Claire Bloom...well it knocked me out...what a BEAUTIFUL movie...and Charlie made me cry...for real...i was soooooo moved....just in AWE of this man....i like when the host (sydney Pollack)said that with all his flaws it just meant he was human....a gentle soul always... Just want to say Thank you again TCM for showing me something i never would have known or appreciated if it hadnt been for your channel... Ty again, AvaG :-) Message was edited by: AvaG92260

hamradio, i understand what your saying.....being in THIS generation.. ...absolutly very confusing...but in that time..it was GROUNDBREAKING stuff..... i mean it was not OK then, but it was excepted......NOW today theres no way someone could make this movie and DARE try to be "funny" about it..... just wouldnt happen... But u are right when u say that Mel Brooks is a GENIUS..he truly is...to me MY favorite comedian...writerod all time!..with out a dought!!! A GENIUS...but with that genius there were other ppl involved (of course) oh of course the actors..thats a given...but i mean he had other wirters helping him as well....which leads me to half those "racial" scenes and joke in the movie, were written by none other then Richard Pryor himself...As u know a man who pushed everyones buttons when it came to race in his own act as well as obviously others.....my point being that even THEN u had a black man writing the stuff that we all were laughing at then and today find rather shocking..or shall i say confusing.... Anyway, no dought Blazing Saddles was a greaaaaat movie..i hope every1 laughed as much as i..but i must add the other movie EQUALLY funny done the SAME year as Blazing was ...YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN!! My other Mel Brooks/ Gene Wilder colab..FAV!!! Again tyall AvaG :-)

Robboy, i dont know if i would say its her best, but close to it...i adore Natalie Wood..most definitly one of our greatest actresses of all time and for sure one of the BIGGEST tragedys ever..the loss of her so young......and how she died...just the worst...thank god we have her films to remember her always... ty AvaG
