  1. I have mixed feelings about bio pics about people or events. As a whole I enjoy them knowing they are Hollywood versions. If they are good (IMHO) I start to research them and learn more. The ones I enjoy the most are the one I know the least about going in. For example:

    Glory.

I had know idea who Robert Shaw was and the 54th.

Since then I have done research on him and the history of black troops in the Civil War. Cool stuff

To Cooper film's, Pride of the Yankees & Sargent York

These two were had long passed on by the time I was born. I saw both these films on the Saturday afternoon movie and TV as a kid. This got me interested in both to research them when I was older.

    Go For Broke.

Again another film based on (at the time) the little known 442nd all Japanese combat unit. Made up of mostly interned boys whose families were still interned when the Regret letters arrived. The most decorated unit in US history.

a few others: The Alamo & Yankee Doodle Dandy

BUT, most of the bios on people are disappointing or depressing (especially made for TV bios.)

    Mommy Dearest.

Ruined Crawford movies for me. Though, I saw a little item on TCM by Ann Blyth on Crawford that may help me in the future.

    The Spirit of St. Louis

Loved this movie as a kid but as I researched and learned more about Lindbergh, I can't enjoy this film anymore.

  2. I'm not sure I am using the correct Gore (the singer Lesley Gore - the only Leslie Gore I'm familiar with).

Ignore this post if is not the correct one.

Gore to Candice Bergen in Murphy Brown episode

Bergen to Gene Hackman in Bite the Bullet

Hackman to Anne Archer in Narrow Margin

Archer to Sasson in Hollywood Women

If I used the correct Gore, connect Toni Tennille to Howard Ralston

  3. Even the dimming of the lights in the theaters back then seemed special. Most of the theaters I went to as a kid had the highly detailed ceilings and walls. Gold and velvet everywhere. The lights would dim slowly, the excitement would grow and the hugh velvet curtains would open (or close depending how one sees this action). Sometimes the film would be projected on the curtains as they were opening. In some of the theaters I could here the projector running. Milk Duds! Always had Milk Duds and popcorn as a kid (now days just popcorn). And the popcorn did have that artificial butter.

  4. Bert Lytell to Kay Johnson The Single Sin

Johnson to Bette Davis in Of Human Bondage

Davis to Ronald Reagan in Dark Victory

Reagan To Connie Chung in various interviews and reports

Chung to Ward in Brothers Keeper

Also Lytell to Reagan in The Orchid Award (a tv series)

    to Chung etc.

Connect Zella Ingraham to Ellie Raab

  5. Young attractive blonde, will be in Washington DC on business - lots of free time. Seeking well educated young man for sight seeing, deep discussions, and possible romance. Playing Gin a must. If this is you "I've got a yen for ya."

  6. I'm not sure I have the right people but here goes:

Strong to Bill Dwyer in Extreme Dodgeball

Dwyer to Campbell Lane in Ski School II

Lane to Sam Elliot in Final Cut

Elliot to Charlston Heston in Tombstone

Heston to Gloria Swanson in Airport 75

Swanson to Graham in Male & Female

If I did the right people connect Barbara Tyson to House Peters

  7. bggalaxy came about from my diecast collecting days. I needed a name for ebay. As a kid I always wanted a Big Wheel but they came out after I was to big to ride 'em. So I tried to used bigwheels for my id. It was used so I shortened it to bgwheels. So when I found this place (while at work) I changed wheels to galaxy (a part of my work place name)and there you go.

As for the psscuddles (when I'm able to post from home) - Scuddles was the name of one of my dogs in my younger days. The ps I added just to add - no reason.

  8. I just pulled out another film we enjoy watching this time of year: Funny Farm. In this film Chevy Chase and Madolyn Smith convince (bribe) the whole town to portray the perfect Christmas town for potential buyers of their farm.
