Intermission in Movies -- For or Against?
bggalaxy replied to nickdimeo's topic in General Discussions
I don't mind them either I would if the running time does not take the itermission time into consideration. I'm not sure this happens with intermissions but it does with intro music. I'll set up to record a film and miss the last 5 minutes because there was 5 minutes of intro music at the beginning of the film that wasn't included in the running time. Does anyone know if the intermission minutes are counted in the running time? -

ditto on Stanwyck -
Hi evh55, good question - I have no idea. I'm not sure if you realize this... but you are suppose to give us clues to a film - one at a time. We try to figure out the title from these clues.

Hey BD, go to www.imdb.com . There you can key in search words and come up with what you may be seeking.

I think Bueller is a classic. What Hughes did on film during this era will be remembered for a long time. In a five year span in the 80"s Hughes directed these calssics: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes Trains & Automobiles, and Uncle Buck. Also produced in 1990 another classic Home Alone. Like Andy Hardy the teen films listed will be remembered and enjoyed in the future.

LUCY on "Summer Under Stars" Not as yet deserved
bggalaxy replied to spencerl964's topic in General Discussions
I like the fact she was given a day. Yes she is not movie superstar but she was a star. The big legends get air play several times throughout the year. It's nice to have others have a day. A day to a character actor like Thomas Mitchell and the such would be great. -
In a previous post it was brought up what the Thinman series would have been like with Cary Grant. That had me thinking (bad move by me) was there an actor Myrna Loy did not have good/great chemistry with? (on screen)

A poll! Whom matches up with whom on "Summer Under the Stars?"
bggalaxy replied to spencerl964's topic in General Discussions
I'm a big fan of Powell. The Thinman series is tops. With all this said - Grant would have been just as enjoyable. -

Well I've been meaning to contribute to this thread spencer, but I kept getting side tracked. I ended up with Barbara Stanwyck in Lady Eve. How perfect (for me) was that. The only other actress that would have been just as perfect for me would have been Jean Arthur (if she is one of the choices?) -
Fay Wray was one of my first crushes as a kid. I was about 5 yrs. old when I first saw King Kong on the Saturday Afternoon Movie back in the 60's. I, along with most males (human or ape) fell for Ms Wray as the movie progressed. It's her only film I felt this way about her. It's been a great memory for 40 years now. Thanks Ms. Wray.
