The first, I guess is in reference to Yves Montand being dug up. The second is a possible reason for the messed up writing of the first. It also, I believe, tries to explain the drinking game - again, just a wild guess.

It depends if the term "video" means recorded onto film. I have seen a few very young Bing Crosby singing a song that was to sale him and the tune. In one of them, if I recall he is singing to several girls. Bing at the time was representing the "cool" of the times. Much like todays videos that are produced to promote an artist and the tune, just the attitude and technology are different.

Stage Door has some great scenes

I think my favorite Reeves film was Death Trap.

This sucks. I just saw the show in which he was able to move his lower limbs. It was one of the most inspiring things I had ever seen. I felt that if anyone was going to beat paralysis - it would be Reeves and I would see it in my life time. He left his mark on this world and it's not for his acting - it's for his living it.

That's not Entertainment about the widow news.

oops! "autographed"

Chill leo, what other idiots? If you noticed you were supported by two of the 3 posters following your post. I too was going to say there was nothing offensive with your post and would be glad to have an auotgraphed book from this classy lady.
But it's kind of hard when you fly off the handle like you just did.

They are both great - but I think I would have to go with Miller because I enjoyed her in more films.
I too think Vera Ellen would be my number one.

I just heard an interesting point on the radio from 2 sports dj's. Back in the 80's - 90's he was one guy all generations viewed as a fantastic comedians. From teenagers to seniors we all had Rodney in common.

UURRRGGGHH!

Thanks for the "Stage Door" heads up. I haven't looked at the schedule yet and would have been very upset to miss this one.

Rodney Dangerfield one of my favorite stand-ups past away.
He has been in ill health for awhile now. I'll miss his humor.

I know when a movie is raved about or has a huge following, such as Gone with the Wind, I am usually let down by the time I get the chance to see it (such as GWTW). I guess my expectations are set to high by all the word of mouth and the films can't reach it. This doesn't mean the film was bad - just a let down.
Then there are Films such as My Man Godfrey, Holiday, and You Can't Take it With You that I heard little of before I watched them (a lot of raves since) that are on my favorites.

for the record my wife and I know 3 couples that have lived this movie. The being friends forever before the logical love connection kicked in. In one of the couples we were the Fisher/Bruno couple. Happy to say (knock on wood) they are all (at least 11 years)still married. On the other hand - during the friends part of their relationships - none of these couple would have considered the other their "best" friend until the romance started.

muntiny, if I follow what you are saying it's:
You had TCM in your favorites and when clicked on it - it would not come up?
If that's so - my favorites still works. If that's not it ignore this.

Thanks for the info on Windom. Last night I watched the end of a "Night Gallery" marathon. What was weird was I started watching these shows after the marathon started. The first episode I caught was one with Windom in it. I did see the final show and you guessed it Windom was in that also. I told my wife "I wonder if he is still around?" And wouldn't you know it - I come on here and there he is. Did have to go to imdb. - Thanks again.
PS The "Night Gallery" shows were great! I saw about 6 one hour episodes. I was amazed at all the famous faces that were in those shows. I had not seen those since I was a kid.

The thing is the other channels do not show it in letterbox.

As for men, I would say Tom Hanks for one - He's covered the whole spectrum of roles. "Big" to "Philadelphia", "Forest Gump" to "Saving Private Ryan", "Slash" to "Sleepless in Seattle". I just watched "Road to Perdition" and thought he was great as a hitman. From comedy to drama - good guys to bad - he has done it all.
Harrison Ford is another who has come out on top in humor, drama, and action films. Though he has not had the trophies - he has the hits.

When this was first posted in August I could not think of one. Noe that it is up again, this came to mind:
Irene Dunne as Mama in "I Remember Mama" sitting at the kitchen table "It good, we don't have to go to the bank"

Moira, great post! (Ditto to everyone else who has replied).
I like the part of adding that warning to the beginning of films. I have heard this idea before - thank for the reminder.

As for the 50's style, it was a good era. It was probably amplified by a television in appearing in almost every home. Instant live visuals.
As far as on film era fashions go - my favorite would probably be the mid 20's to the 30's.
