  1. And may all your Christmases be white.... (next person up....feel free to keep it going or choose another starter if you like..)
  2. OH Jack...I am so glad you got to tape it. I hope you get to watch it all the way through sometime soon. I did a little mini ramble over in the western thread. And my Kleenex box is running dangerously low..I don't think I can handle too many more of these emotional movies!!
  3. The 3 Godfathers....oh..me...oh my...what an emotional week this has been for me...and that's just with all the movie talk going around. I decided to bring this ramble over here just to keep us in a Western locale... I am so glad to have gotten to see this one again. It has long been a favorite of mine. And watching it again today after all the emotional discussion of our other 3 Friends over in the Movie Rambles thread...let's just say I am about played out. I may need to go watch the Grey Guy's disgusting favorite (Once Upon a Time...etc) just to get over all this emotion. But for now I will just revel in it a bit longer instead. It IS the Christmas season...(if not this time of year then when??) April and Grey Guy...the 3 Wise Men theme is all over this one for sure. Even more blatantly than I recall ("The kid" even specifically mentions it) And there are so many other aspects of the Christmas story woven in here along w/ a lot of other Bible themes. SPOILER-- I especially loved the way The Kid and Pedro make their peace w/ their Creator before they die...very heartwrenching. And was it just all this emotion....or what? This time, for the first time I almost wondered if William was almost "teaching" his young godson a bedtime prayer in the way he reverted back to his childhood prayer at the end..."And make me a good boy" etc...oh...too much ...I need to invest in Kleenex stock if we are going to keep talking about these sorts of films around here. (PS...SCSU....another "Duke sing along" moment....who knew??? As he is wandering about and starts to lose his footing in the little rocky shelter there toward the end...he starts singing "Streets of Laredo" Glen Campbell's career...stilI safe). :-) Thanks for putting up w/ my rambling folks. I am going to try and get the 36 version on tape as well. I mentioned over on the other thread...it is quite a bit different in places...but a lot of the same elements are there. I will enjoy the comparison and contrast...and maybe by then I will have time to get to the store and by a couple dozen extra boxes of Kleenex...Oh! I just remembered...tomorrow is Christmas eve...I better hurry. The stores will be closing early!! :-)
  4. Thanks ladies!! I am feeling better already!!
  5. Look at the people waiting to get in to the party. Wow...we are going to need a lot more CAKE!!! :-)
  6. Oh...I am so disappointed..it is so cold and rotten outside...and now it is all icy too...we had to cancel our scouting troop party for tonight.... The weather is so "arctic" like around here...we might as well get in a few more hugs!!!
  7. Where the treetops glisten....And children listen to hear sleighbells in the snow...
  8. my new TV just arrived and it seems to be in one piece this time, WooHoo!! Enjoy yourself little missy!! I am sure the viewing possibilities are almost endless! :-)

  11. here's a big hug from me and a Merry Christmas HA!!!! Thanks I feel better already!!! And right back at ya, my sister!! PS..how did you know that polar bears are my favorite?? :-)
  12. I'm sure it comforted her to know not every man entered her life to hurt and desert her. April...Chris...Jack...Grey Guy...you are all pulling things out of this part of the film that are really just making this moment stand out so much more for me than it already has... again. It is one of the things that I like about these rambles...getting to drink in everyone else points of view makes for a better more well-rounded concept of the movie as a whole... Oh..with all these emotions welling up again...I am feeling the need for a group hug any moment now!! :-)
  13. If I may...since old Mackie seems to be taking a break...here's a little something for the season.... I'm dreaming of a white Christmas....
  14. I may have some nice screen caps of our "angel" after Christmas. I will go stock up on the Kleenex right now!! PS...that Santa of yours is a pretty smart cookie...so in tune w/ just what you want for Christmas!!! (My Santa usually leaves me a little money among his other gifts so if there is anything he forgot I can pick it up later...watta guy!!) :-)
  15. My favorite movie angel.... Jack...that is my most favorite part of that movie!! I can hear her singing right now... Oh..don't get me to crying again... :-)
  16. Maybe we'll all talk "Silverado" soon. I would enjoy that chat for sure....PS..did you notice TCM is airing it next month on the 25th..I already signed up for a reminder...maybe if the new VCR works as good it seems so far, I will finally get this one on tape!! :-) April...that pic is a total crack up!!
  17. heya everybody...go over to the westerns and wish Chris a happy 3000!!
  18. 99 CENTS??????????????????? Wow....I am moving to New York!!! We only have "Dollar" stores around here!! (HA!) Thanks for the tip. I usually go to Walmart...but they don't even have them that cheap....I will check it out!! :-)
  19. April..I remember that scene...I sometimes wonder if she is crying for herself or for Bob...because of the whole little RWP thing...I think it is likely both. It is a very well played out scene. PS..I am pulling my hair out ..(Not LITERALLY) I KNOW I have some blank tapes around here...I may have to make a mad dash to the store if I don't find them pretty soon...this will be my first "official" recording on the new/old VCR....I am so excited!!! :-) (it's the little things in life...)
  20. PS...leave it to the technophobe...I tried to make this photo smaller...I edited in my photo thingie and I even tried Mr Dobbs' instructive tutorial...but to no avail...so tough break this time...BIG is the order of the day!! Enjoy!. :-)
  21. Hello Movieman Chris!!!!! I noticed you hit a milestone and thought this was as good a place to celebrate as any.... Congrats on your 3000th post!!!! 22. I know! I often find myself singing, Nice to know I am not alone...for me it is more like... Que Sera Sera... :-)
  23. For me, it's the sacrificial end of the "3 Bad Men" and their goodbyes to one another. Oh sure Grey Guy....give me a second day of blubbering emotional mayhem....(again I am loving it!) Very nicely put young man...excellent use of screencaps to make your points. And I like your comments to Chris as well... April... Frank that's the most beautiful post ever. I guess now I cant' ever say anything bad about you again. Now, now..never is a LONG time... :-)
  24. I would like to be Doris Day...in just about any musical she was ever in ...so that way I could just bust out singing anytime I felt like it, and nobody would look at me like I was a wacko. (at least not for that reason anyway) :-)
