What did you think of the score
don't really remember too much about it other than the part I mentioned. It's been a long time since I saw it.

Could ZZ Top have been any more perfect in this one? I love when they spin their guitars and drum at the big "shindig"
-
Glad you liked the snow Barb...I say this as one "snow lover" to another...hope you will get to "chill out" real soon!! :-)
-
Being such an angel myself...I'm too afraid I will be corrupted by all the bad influences on this thread so far...is it possible just to take this as a correspondence course??? (Kidding...only kidding...put down that spit wad shooter right now.) :-)

On the next edition of Entertainment Tonight..Where are they now...The "rejects" who tried out for the cast of Friends...they're all still waiting for that one big phone call to tell them they are gonna get their lucky break in show biz...

trying to broker peace
Sometimes when you want to "broker peace" you gotta have a "Peacemaker" :-)

I'm gonna take a stab at this thread.
Go west, young Favell, go west!! Excellent post...and very in tune w/ the emotional aspect of the desire I am sure was behind many folks' ideals when they made the big journey. Loved the poem, by the way. Thanks so much for posting it.
If you haven't seen them...let's see...How the West Was Won and The Big Country are two really good films that explore some of what you were describing...and the scenery and music are hard to beat...I am sure there are many more good choices that some of the more expert "westerner's" can think of...but those are the first two that come to mind. I know my Western Wanna See list has increased substantially the longer I hang around in here. :-)
-
You gals are doing a great job of combining two of my fave subjects...westerns and music.
Barb and Jackie....hope y'all will stay and "sit a spell" w/ us. We're enjoyin' your visit to be sure.

he's probably a "kick em when their down" kind of person......
I imagine you are right....
Hey, heres an idea...she can slap him...and THEN throw the inkwell at him. oh...I think I need to go sit in a quiet room now and calm down...(arrogant chump hotel clerks bring out the worst in me) Did I mention I would have made a lousy Quaker??
-

I have always hated that hotel clerk
She was so close...all it would have taken was one good open handed slap... what a waste of a good opportunity. :-)

Interesting "posers" there, Jack...
The clerk at the hotel He was certainly among the more honest...in fact...he went beyone honest and was just downright insulting....I remember saying something on here a while back that if Ihad been Grace Kelly, I'd have likely slapped his arrogant chump little face...(I don't think I would make a good Quaker)
Martin... I think he may have been more concerned about Will than anyone else... to me he was more or less "defeated" in his attitude of public service
People gotta talk themselves into law and order before they do anything about it. Maybe because down deep they don't care. They just don't care

Do not forsake me, oh my darlin'....wait.
(thanks, Jack...a sentimental favorite!) :-)

Duke gets into the Thanksgiving spirit:
Ha!! Kinda gives a whole new meaning to the "hardships" faced by the pilgrims that we usually hear about this time of year, doesn't it?? :-)
-
there ARE a lot of good looking men in it
Well then....where did I put that wanna see list?? :-)
Ps...Hey, go back in to the "Next Line thread" and give us a new starter line...I need to figure out a way to get folks to remember when they complete a "quote" series to start a new one....it's been fun watching all the choices, though...give us a good one, kid.) :-)

The Great Escape
I know...my husband has been trying to get me to watch it for years...I SHOULD add it to my infamous list ...
I love Hogan's Heroes by the way...( I know NOTHING!)
and F Troop! What a riot. We discussed that one a while back on Miss G's TV western thread if I recall. Too funny. :-)
-
April....there is a lot to be said for those old cowboys...I am glad some of them made it onto film so their "way of life" could be preserved...but it is a shame more of the films haven't survived.
-
its nice to see we are on the same page
Great minds think alike..but in my case....I must have just gotten lucky ( when it comes to the more technical aspects of films, I rarely have a thought that could be called "great" but you are usually right on target.).
-
It's actually kind of dramatic, not one of her more light hearted entries
Actually that would be a plus for me....I think sometimes she was a little TOO sweet...although now I will likely get a bag load of hatemail from the Shirley Temple Police. I will check that film out and likely end up adding to my wanna see list (yet again)
FF--I LOVE The Little Princess.

Jack...I have never seen The Great Escape....OR the Magnificent Seven...but I love the music you posted...he really was quite the talent.
-
BTW did you march uphill, barefoot carrying a tuba
HA! No it was a tenor sax....we were allowed to wear shoes...but only for competition! :-) (It was Kentucky after all) HA! Kidding only kidding! All you folks in Kentucky sit back down now.

only true Darwood
Gotta agree w/ you there...the show was never quite the same w/ out him.

It is basically a talking silent picture
Chris...that is a perfect way to describe it.
