  1. Hello! Would it be possible for you to answer my questionnaire on Women in Film Noir? It is important for my survey for my dissertation. Here is the link to the questionnaire. https://qtrial.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_5BlMQW5yZhFJZwF My professor coordinator is also a television producer and he wants me to write a book on this subject of film noir, as soon as I get my Master's Degree in a few months. I need as many respondents as possible. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. And please give the link also to other people you might know and who have seen films noirs. You wil

  3. SHAME ON TCM IF THEY POSTPONE AGAIN THE WELL-DESERVED CONRAD VEIDT DAY!
  4. Well, I bought an extraordinary copy from England, where the film is sold on DVD. It was released this year, in February. Check it on amazon.co.uk. The version I have is 79 minutes long (2 minutes longer than the official one, because it has 2 extra-sequences). It comes from the Rohauer Collection. The quality of the picture and sound is great. I found yesterday on imdb.com two excerpts from the script of the film, from scenes which no longer exist in the actual version. The first one comes from Madeleine's monologue by the end of the film, when she is arrested, and the second one comes f
  5. And here is a bonus: a splendid, perfect close-up of Vivien (I think here she is more beautiful than in any other film). The embrace... As far as I know, Vivien is the only co-star that Conrad ever really kissed on screen, in the talkies, at least. He never really kissed his leading ladies (I suppose he didn't like it). But here, it looks like he wanted to give Vivien a little kiss. Edited by: Monik on Sep 9, 2010 2:56 AM
  6. Connie and Viv - one of my favourite couples! Did anyone notice that this romantic scene from the photo doesn't exist anymore in the film?
  7. And here are some photos from my favourite scene. This is the only movie of Conrad Veidt (and I've seen quite a lot of them) in which he is really kissing his co-star. Of course, she is Vivien Leigh. It would be nice to find the complete version of this interesting movie, which is longer than 76 minutes. There is a version of 90 minutes, which was broadcast on TV at the beginning of the 90's.
  8. Here are some other very nice photos of the two great actors together. Edited by: Monik on Jun 26, 2010 11:55 AM
  9. href="http://s300.photobucket.com/albums/nn35/Monica_Ilie/Dark%20Journey/?action=view&current=11.jpg" target="_blank"> This photo is from a deleted romantic scene between Baron Karl Von Marwitz (Conrad Veidt) and Madeleine Goddard (Vivien Leigh), at the Grand Hotel restaurant. 10. I would like to devote a special thread to one of my favourite Vivien Leigh movies, Dark Journey (1937), in which she co-stars with the one and only Conrad Veidt.
  11. MissGoddess, I would like to know your opinion-Is the album Yul Brynner photographer a good one? I want to buy it and I want to know for sure if it has some interesting photos. Are there any photos of Yul and Deborah together, or of Yul alone?
  12. I would like to know something: Is it worth buying the album "Yul Brynner photographer"? Does it contain interesting photos? I would like to know if there are any nice portraits of Yul and Deborah together or photos of Yul.
  13. I consider these 3 pictures as parts of the same deleted scene. Look at the way he is holding her-the Major is very passional. The other 2 pictures are reproductions of the photos from the same set. If you want to watch the entire film, you could find it on youtube.
  14. Herer is a photo from the famous kiss scene.
  15. Today it would have been Deborah's 87th birthday, so I made this in her memory.
  16. MissGoddess, those 2 photos of Yul are nice. I've never seen him in "The Sound and the Fury", though I heard many things about it. Maybe someone will release it someday on DVD, because it's a very good film. Yul looks young in the first photo. He was very handsome, but I think that being bald helped him impress the audience, much more than if he remained with hair. He had very beautiful eyes and a sensual mouth. 17. Here are 2 new photos from "The Journey".
  18. The photos are wonderful, MissGoddess. Thank you. I think that every Vivien Leigh fan admires all of them.
  19. I would gladly send him a message, but I don't know his email. Could somebody help me? I used to know Mr. Marc Brandon from Warner Bros. I had a talk with him a few years ago and I still have his email address. But, unfortunately, it is no longer available I wish I could do something to solve this problem. It's unfair that "The Journey" and many other very good films with Yul Brynner are not released on DVD, but we do see some uninteresting movies made in the 20's and the 30's, with gangsters and stupid screenplays, which are released for the public. Something must be done. I saw a thread on
  20. I sent an email to the Warner Brothers two days ago and I asked them to release "The Journey" on DVD. This is their reply. I want to know your opinion about it. "Thank you for visiting WarnerBros.com and sending us your feedback. We value your comments and suggestions on improving the quality of our site and services. Due to the volume of feedback we receive, we cannot respond to every one." Here are some photos from the original version of "The Journey". They are taken from the trailer of the film. I am sure that some scenes were cut when the movie was colorized. As you could see, t
  21. Please, have a look at "The Journey" thread.
  22. Yul had such beautiful eyes! He was magnetic. I always enjoy watching the scene in "The Journey" where he approaches to Deborah Kerr, looks deeply into her eyes and tries to kiss her. Message was edited by: Monik
  23. Here are other 2 pictures from my huge Deborah Kerr collection.
  24. Here is another picture that I coloured today.
  25. Ok, ok... Do you also love Ray Milland?
