  1. I would be very interested in attending this event - Olivia de Havilland is by far my favorite actress, and this type of opportunity is once in a lifetime! How would someone who lives on the East Coast go about trying to get tickets once they go on sale?
  2. I think Olivia de Havilland would make an ideal babysitter - gentle and motherly but with great inner strength and a will of steal. For the men, I'd pick Jimmy Stewart, although Cary Grant would probably keep them entertained the whole time!
  3. As a newer fan of classic movies, I haven't seen enough of 1939's movies to know who or what was left out at the Oscars. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of them on TCM this month. But I agree with you, Spencer, that much as I enjoyed Hattie McDaniel's work in GWTW, Olivia's was superior. I can understand why Hattie won the Oscar, but I think it's a shame Olivia's fine work wasn't awarded.
  4. I am a huge fan of Olivia de Havilland, and this is one movie of hers that I really want to see. Does anyone know who owns the rights to this film? Is it ever shown on TV, on TCM or any other channel?
  5. There are so many beautiful leading ladies - I especially agree with the choices of Vivien Leigh and Grace Kelly. I also would put Olivia de Havilland in this category - I read that Warner Brothers producer Henry Blanke said "she was so beautiful it hurt."
