I've seen one of the other two John Ford movies from 1934, The Lost Patrol (worth checking out too!). However, the answer to your question is The World Moves On ... which I haven't seen. Is it a good one?
-
Is John Wayne in this one? I can't remember the name of it ...

coffeedan,
unless you know something the rest of us don't, the schedule for January (not June) just went up, right? If you know how to get the schedule for more than three months out, please let us know ... inquiring minds want to know;-)

This is a pretty good movie, thrilling ending too. But what makes it so special, in my mind, is the cast. It has James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan. It also has Frank Morgan, Robert Young, Robert Stack, Bonita Granville and Maria Ouspenskaya. What a cast! Knowing the roles several of these actors made famous later (e.g. on TV) makes the roles they play in this film all the more interesting, I think.
Now the best news yet, for those who've yet to see it, it's going to be shown in January! Feaito, I'm still waiting to hear what you thought of it since I put it in the 21 questions trivia game and you said you had it taped. If you've had a chance to watch it, reply with your comments if you please. Thanks.

Well, it happened again, for me anyway. I realize it could be a coincidence. However, I requested (both on these boards and through the "suggest a movie") that TCM air The Little Foxes with Bette Davis. And, sure enough, in January, they'll be showing it!
Thanks TCM!!!

... till tonight when I can see Robert Osborne's private screening with Shirley MacLaine!!!
-
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly ... of course

It sounds like an interesting story, but I'm drawing a blank. If you have anymore details, B&W vs. Color, what decade it was released, any of the cast, other plot points, it might be possible to find it with a search at imdb.com Good luck!
Could it have been a TV movie? Or, a short story on a TV program? What you've provided thus far isn't much (plot-wise) to go on and may not have been a feature length film.

Night Song?

Welcome! Always great to have another person who loves classic movies and TCM joining the boards here!

Yes, she was definitely a beautiful lady, on screen and off. I think Maureen O'Hara is another one in her league and a few others. And I'm sure there are others as well. So many wonderful, charming, memorable performances for Audrey with Roman Holiday, Sabrina, and My Fair Lady being my favorites.

I had one of those moments Saturday nights. You know the kind, you turn on the TV and find that TCM is showing a truly outstanding film you've seen before and, even though you have, you can't stop watching it. When the movie ends you have that warm feeling inside that validates your love for the classics.
Well, that's what happened to me a couple of nights ago when I found that To Kill A Mockingbird was on TCM! A truly great film. Of course, Hollywood had a fantastic piece of work from Harper Lee to work with in the first place. Perhaps that is what's wrong with the movies of today ... maybe there aren't any truly great novels being written anymore?
-
Yes, it is Anthony Adverse ... another classic I need to thank TCM for showing this year!
See y'all tomorrow?

Sounds a little like the way Kurt Douglas met Lana Turner in The Bad and the Beautiful, but not exactly.
BTW, bansi4, do you have time to join our 21 questions trivia this PM? I can't "stay" much longer before the trick or treaters start arriving;-)
