It was the 1939 20th Century Fox lavish and grandiose spectacle....The Rains Came, with Myrna Loy, Tyrone Power, George Brent, Nigel Bruce, Maria Ouspenskaya, Brenda Joyce, Marjorie Rambeau, Mary Nash, Jane Darwell, Laura Hope Crews....et al...directed by Clarence Brown...borrowed from MGM, just like Loy... Remade in 1955 by Jean Negulesco as The Rains of Ranchipur with Lana Turner (who'd been considered for the Brenda Joyce role in the first version), fred MacMurray, Richard Burton, Michael Rennie...et al... Although you didn't guess the specific movie...I pass the ball to you..I'm exhausted!!
