I bought the DVD last year, after reading some positive comments on these boards. A real treat.

Where's the Great Gary Cooper Collection?
feaito replied to Fandango's topic in Information, Please!
Welcome Lynn (sorry for the mistake in the previous post), Yes indeed, Universal is "reacting", which is confirmed by the upcoming releases of the Mae West, Carole Lombard and Marlene Dietrich "Glamour Collections", plus the De Mille Collection. Let's keep our fingers crossed for more Paramount goodies. -

Liz, In fact "Beau Geste" is one of the films that's included in the 2-DVD set that Universal released last year (all Paramount titles) and that also includes "Peter Ibbetson", "Lives of a Bengal Lancer", "Design for Living" and "The General Died at Dawn". -
I understand you so well Alix. Maybe the same happened to me last night when I was watching John Barrymore's "Eternal Love". I wanted so much to like it and I did not really enjoyed it.

I would have swore it was a pair earrings. Memory plays tricks on us sometimes

I'd love to see this one. It has always intrigued me very much and what a cast! Fredric March, Connie Bennett, Fay Wray and Frank Morgan. Why did you had a hard time sitting through it? Was it a slow moving film? Wasn't the storyline amusing enough? If my memory does not fail, It was directed by master director Gregory LaCava, produced by 20th Century Pictures and released through United Artists in 1934, before it merged with FOX.

Thanks for the info Liz. That was the house in which she lived with husband Cedric Gibbons?

Thanks Larry. I've always admired very much Dolores del R?o. She never aged!!!

Since I read on another thread that you knew Dolores del R?o and Merle Oberon, are there any recollection of them you can share with us Larry?

Glad I was of help to you! I taped that film twice and I loved it! -
Sounds like a truly exciting film Deborah. Thanks for posting the review.

In "Desire"

Both "The Blue Veil" and "The Constant Nymph" cannot be released or aired on TV, due to legal entaglements concerning copyrights and stuff like that. Anyhow I bought a "decent" DVD-R copy of the latter from a private Collector from the USA.

I think it may be "The Devil and Daniel Webster" with James Craig. -
They confused/reversed the names of the actors who played the Tarleton twins?

Aline MacMahon. -
I have beautiful Studio Still of her in which she resembles very much Jane Powell.

Yes, congrats! Your turn.

I thought of Tamiroff too, but finally chose Morley.
-
And the "boss" should be Robert Morley? but the film escapes me.
