I think that Doris Day was an actres who had "rapport" with almost all her leading men, from Sinatra, to MacRae, Dailey, Hudson, Jimmy Stewart, etc...she is very nice. Touch of Mink is a nice flick , and I enjoyed it very much...Gig Young and Audrey Meadows gave fine support
And Frances Farmer, what a beauty! an talented too!

Yes TCM prog. excellent news...that demonstrates you are the TOP classic films channel and on the "Avant Garde" on everything...Such a Channel existing (actually) is really like " a dream come true"!

Yes it is "Six"..and your turn!! congrats and welcome! ... I was thinking of the classic 1936 version...not the June Allyson-David Niven remake, just for info....my sister in law told me she enjoyed Allyson's version very much! I haven't seen it. Have You?

Glad it was an useful post for you keith...I also noticed that in the three features included in the DVD, there was made a refference to an entity called, cannot remember exactly, but was it sort of "American Library of Moving Images"?..or sth. like that, so, I noticed that there wasn't only a "economic" interest in this release, but also a "preserving" "movement"?... Well, about "Judex"... I've read something about Musidora, the french film actress who starred in those films...interesting Keith. Thanks for the info.

Yes Path, I know you were referring to that "Emma"... that's why I mentioned that I also wanted to watch "(The Late) Christopher Bean", Marie's last role...I'm a Dressler fan...although I've only watched her in "Min and Bill", "Anna Christie" and "Dinner At Eight"..Would love to watch her in those "antics" she filmed opposite Polly Moran too..
Clue # 4: A Lavish Party

The Lady Eve...Stany at her finest!

I read her biography "Jean Arthur, The Actress Nobody Knew", by John Oller, and enjoyed it thoroughly, and the author states that her right birth-date was 1900, and gives reasons for why she or whoever, told this another "wrong" birth year ( I do not remember exactly, 'cos I read it two years ago). Until then I had too read from many other books & sources, that she had been born in 1905, and believed it...anyway she looked so young!
If anyone is interested in the topic...I can check at night the book at home, and give you more info..OK?..I'm at work now, it's 10:50 am here..I'll be home aroun 9:00 pm...

As for myself, I've got many VHS and tapes too (some of them recordings from radio stations from 1979 until 1995)!!..But I've bought many dvd's and cd's I already had on those formats, when I liked them (movies or albums) very, very much...I even had until one month ago my vinyls, which i had to sell, at very low prices
...'cos I really hadn't time to listen properly to them, plus most of them I had it on cd...plus the new stereos don't have "phono" connection....so you connect the "vinyl-player" to the "aux" connection and its sounds horrible....then if I wanted to listen to them I had to get an old stereo with a phono connection....way too fuzzy and complicated (I live in a small apartment)!!But VHS, I still have, I tape many movies from TCM or other channels....if the movie is not available on dvd (and won't come out in a near future) I buy the vhs...or tape it....Got two VHS equipments, excellent, two DVD equipments, one specially designed for watching & listening to all zones and even PAL or SECAM european stuff (DVD) which I buy, mostly movies from Spain, and musical DVD's from France and UK...so for me everything complements "each other"....VHS and DVD can "co-exist" and "co-habitate", no problem....and I have both the dvd and vhs equipments, connected to the hometheatre.sub woofer, 5 speakers system...and i enjoy both...'cos for example, there are many 80's music videos which won't be relased, still, on dvd format....
