I started out as a singing waiter. I made my way to NY (not too far to go since I was born in NJ)
I was discovered by a very famous director and a very famous actor. After working hard at the Neighborhood Playhouse I got to do some stage work.That lead me to Hollywood as a contract player. I mostly appeared in war films then in noirs.In the late 50's I appeared as a regular on a tv series. Later in my career, I played a plum role in a film that is considered to be one of the greatest of all time. Who am I?

Excellent VF-- Peggy Lee- Too much to say about Miss Lee. I hope everybody takes the time to read her bio. She was extraodinordinary. She was nominated for *Pete Kelly's Blues* as best supporting Actress and did co star with Danny Thomas in the remake of The Jazz
Singer, and of course there's is always the wonderful *The Lady and the Tramp* . She wrote and co wrote so many scores and title songs for films. My very favorite of her songs are *Fever* , *Is That All There Is?* and *It's A Good Day*. I think Miss Lee was a precious gem.
