"EXCLUSIVE INSIGHTS FROM BEN MANKIEWICZ"
lavenderblue19 replied to Bronxgirl48's topic in General Discussions
Well, I guess you didn't get my joke about the lasagna! Actually, that really happened. Bourdain was a guest judge on an episode of Top Chef a few years ago. He was very insulting to an Italian chef, Fabio Viviani telling him his lasagna was awful. Fabio told Bourdain off and yelled at him on the show. Of course your cannoli story ( shades of Godfather 3, when Connie bumped Eli off with the poisioned cannolli) and my Lasagna story are jokes. Kidding aside, I just think the circumstances are odd and I'll keep my thoughts to myself about this. -

Oh c'mon, not funny. It is sad about his death. Actually, I was thinking it's a lot more sinister than over a bad cannoli. Years ago on Top Chef i heard him tell an Italian Chef how horrible his Lasagna was. That's more of a reason than the cannoli. lol btw, I don't pay any attention to that horrible group of nuts you refer to in your post. I would never, ever pay any attention or go to their website. I think you know me better than that after all these years. -

Yes, Roger Daltry. there's a 4 year difference between Daltry and Caan and I think at that age it shows. Caan is 81, Daltry 77 and yes Caan looked pretty good for his age. Very sad watching the Bourdain segment, I don't know, never made any sense and a little part of me thinks there might be more to that story. -
He's listed as having over 200 credits for film and tv appearances.

"EXCLUSIVE INSIGHTS FROM BEN MANKIEWICZ"

Just watched the interview on Sunday Morning. Very enjoyable. Love James Caan, excellent actor and interesting man. His role as Sunny in the Godfather, makes most think Caan is Italian. He's Jewish and from Queens. Ben did a good job with the interview. It's a limited time slot and the interview managed to give us a good glimpse into Caan and his career. Ben asked some good questions and didn't talk much, letting Caan have center stage. Hope James Caan gets to play more roles in films and tv. -

This actor was a radio performer, appeared on Broadway, in films and probably most known for his tv work. He had an almost 50 year career in entertainment. He was in Disney films and had a recurring role on a very popular and long running classic tv comedy and a "role" in another popular tv show besides all the guest apprearances in comedies, dramas, game shows. Actor and at least 2 tv shows he was known for and extra forthe Broadway show he was in and the Disney productions ?????????????

I was addicted to The Sopranos when it was on years ago. I've seen every episode although not in a long time. One of the best was the episode Pine Barrens during season 3. One of the best tv shows ever in my opinion. MissW, stick with it, it's worth the time spent watching. the writing, the acting, the music, the locations, everything about this show was top notch. Yes it's violent, but then the dialogue and the humor are so witty and clever. There is too much to talk to talk about because so many characters are so interesting. Tony's relationship with Dr. Melfi, his relationship with his mother, his wife, his children, his crew. I'm a sucker for gangster type films and tv shows but even if I weren't, The Sopranos imo was a brilliant show.

I'm probably the only one here but I enjoyed Bonfires and if you listened to what Julie Salamon said in the outro, she liked Bonfires of the Vanities too. She said it was a fun film and I agree. The film has it's faults, Melanie, Kim Cattrall, F. Murray Abraham's performances were a little too over the top but the film held my attention and I think all the criticism it received was too harsh and not deserved. I agree Moe, sadly, the film is very timely, but I found the film very watchable

Gale Gordon is the guy Princess. Baby Boomers saw a lot of him on tv. Funny guy. Wonder if Gale Gordon would have been as funny as William Frawley as Fred Mertz. I think I'm glad it turned out the way he did although Gale Gordon was an excellent character actor. Good work and quick Princess, your thread.

Thanks Shutoo next This character actor was popular on the radio and then appeared on hit tv shows. Easily recognizable since he was frequently cast in very popular tv shows. He was offered a role in one of the most iconic tv shows in the classic time period but had to turn it down since he was already cast in another popular show. He did get to work many times with the star of the show he had to turn down. He replaced another actor in another popular tv show. Actor, what tv show did he have to turn down and the role and the tv show he did instead, What tv show did he replace an actor in, who did he get to work with many times and name the tv shows the 2 were together in ????????????????????????

shutto, I've tried for a couple of days to get 12. I know I've have seen her many times but just can't remember. If you mean the blonde stars name is in the title, I've thought about Ann Sothern, Glynis Johns, Inger Stevens , Dinah and June Allyson didn't have sit coms. Is it one of these? Maybe time to give another helpful hint or wrap this one up . Thanks
