  1. The young woman knows the wife. The wife is a customer in the dress salon where the young woman works.. The next morning the husband tells his wife what happened, he tells her about the young woman. The wife goes to the dress salon where the young woman works to thank her for her kindness and they become friends.
  2. Goldfinger - Sean Connery asks for a Martini, shaken, not stirred Next: Champagne
  3. Kids - Dick Van Dyke, Paul Lynde, Maureen Stapleton and Bryan Russell sung in the kitchen - Bye, Bye Birdie Debbie Reynolds in a duet
  4. Thanks Princess next Two men have a fight outside a nightclub. A photographer for a newspaper takes a photo of the brawl. a young woman wanting to save the reputation of one of the men takes him home to protect him from reporters and scandal.
  5. Fear InThe Night. Forrest DeKelly and Paul Kelly ???
  6. Lady For A Day starring May Robson. as Apple Annie. Frank Capra directed the film. He did a remake Pocket Full Of Miracles starring Bette Davis in the early 1960's. Hope that helps.
  7. Yes. William Frawley had to leave My Three Sons because his health was failing. He had a stroke, he could still walk and talk but was ill. He died a year after leaving the show. He loved the show and resented having to leave. when William Demarest replaced him, it was adding insult to injury., Frawley it's been said, hated William Demarest before he replaced Frawley. It's only a guess on my part, but I think there was rivalry for roles. Both character actors most probably were in competion for roles during their film careers. Frawley was a difficult man, an alcoholic, a misogynist, an anti-semite and was a gruff grump., ., At any rate, good work and it's your turn Miles
  8. Correct. Cary Grant and Ingrid Berman in Notorious. It's your thread Fausterlitz
  9. Ha, never understood that corny line in the first place, still don't but I loved Spin and Marty. Wish it would be in re-runs and the original Mickey Mouse Club. next This actor was on a very successful tv show in the classic time period. Poor health forced his departure from the show and he was very unhappy about it. To make matters worse for him, he was replaced by an actor he couldn't stand. 2 actors and the tv show ???
  10. I agree Leighcat. I don't know what RO said about her and I also remember him liking Female. I'd say that Bette modeling herself after Chatterton was high praise.
  11. Then read the thread over. Dargo already corrected the poster and then the post I corrected. that's twice. It's not pleasurable correcting posters but when they keep making the same mistake over and over it warrants a correction.
  12. That is a wonderful post Tom and so true. Without being gushy, very touching and very meaningful
  13. Thanks Fausterlitz. next Although this actress had worked with Hitch before, she was uncomfortable and insecure while filming. Her co-star who had a reputation of sometimes being withdrawn was helpful, coaching and rehearsing with the actress. They became lifelong friends after this. 2 Stars and what Hitchcock film ???
  14. James, too bad if you don't like it. The poster was already corrected. He/she spelled Osborne incorrectly, there is no U in Osborne. They spelled it again with a U a 2nd time. What's to be confused about? Once was bad enough, but again in just a few hours, Not good.
  15. Thanks Arsan for reminding me.Already posted a list of classic era films but forgot Christmas in Connecticut. Another one I've been watching since childhood. Must have seen this one at least 30 times over the years and I still love it.
  16. Would you PLEASE spell Robert Osborne correctly. Thank You. Most around here loved him and it's disrepectful to him and us to continue to spell his name incorrectly
  17. I disagree strongly with half your list. I realize it's all a matter of opinion, however, no way was Ruth Chatterton, Farley Granger,Van Heflin, James Dean, Jane Russell "bad actors". Thar's half of your strange choices for bad actors. Van Heflin? You've got to be kidding there. You need to Re-watch some of the movies they've been in. While I agree about George Raft, he's actually pretty effective in the movie Red Light out to avenge his brother's murder.
  18. The method actor part of the clue, makes me think of Paul Newman and Torn Curtain ??
  19. Faron Young I believe sings the version you are looking for.
  20. It did, this guy was so talented, best make-up also. I got tons of compliments. I've always had long hair, still do but it was fun and so different for me to have that cut. Of course, hard not to look great when you're in your 20's LOL
  21. He was great in What About Bob? Love that movie anyway, it's hilarious.
  22. I agree, thought Klute was excellent. Only once did I have much shorter hair and that was when a friend got me an appointment with a photographer/make-up artist in NY who had done Cosmo covers. He cut my hair in a shag and it looked great. Problem was I couldn't afford to go to him again and no one could cut it that way so I let it grow out. However, for those few months I had that cut I loved it.
  23. LOL, nah, wouldn't want that. We already had that pleasure years ago Dargo. ( just teasing, you're welcome over there any old time) If it becomes a trend we'll have that many more threads pushing down discussions of films. Keep the threads seperate.
  24. Hope not. Once in awhile if someone wants to post a question it's one thing, hope it's not a trend.
