In "Saboteur", how does Robert Cummings get free from his handcuffs?

He was suppose to get the handcuffs removed at the blacksmith who was a friend of Priscilla Lane's uncle. But when she got out of the car to flag a car down to turn him in, with the motor still running and the hood of the car up,I think it was the fan belt that cut the handcuffs off.

  2. Sad. I actually checked google yesterday to see how Larry King was doing. I watched most times when Larry had his CNN talk show over the years. He was a great interviewer. Wish he could have survived. I remember his Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando interviews and the 100's of others  that I watched. over the years.Thank You Larry for years of informative and entertaining tv watching.

    RIP Larry King

  3. I'm thinking of Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes?? He was on Your Show of Shows, starred in Me and Juliet on Broadway, The Ballad of Davey Crockett was a big hit and he played Doug Williams on Days of Our Lives ( I use to watch Days at that time). They played a married couple and were married in real life ( I remember when all this took place) Susan Seaforth was 18 years younger than Bill, had roles when she was a youngster and late teen ( I saw her n Dragnet a few times and recognized her immediately as Julie Williams from Days ?????????

  4. LOL Miles, that'all be the day. I Don't believe you! In the meantime, I'm having computer issues so I'm answering this without checking dates  and versions of the songs on wiki

    1950 -  Patti Page - Tennessee Waltz

1951.   Johnnie Ray and the Four Lads - Cry

1953,   Tony Bennett - Rags To Riches

1955.   Tennessee Ernie Ford - Sixteen Tons

1957    April Love - Pat Boone

1960    Elvis Presley - Are You Lonesome Tonight

    1964 - The Beatles - I Feel Fine

    1966-  The Monkees - I'm A Believer

    1967 - Hello Goodbye - The Beatles

1968    Marvin Gaye - Gladys Knight and The Pips also recorded this great song but I think it's Marvin's recording you're asking about

1969 -  Diana Ross and The Supremes

  5. Yes, it's Rosemary DeCamp and yes you covered all the bases I asked for Miles.

Life of Riley, The Bob Cummings Show,  Petticoat Junction, That Girl, The Partridge Family. 1950's -1970's Rosemary DeCamp certainly was a fixture on classic TV and certainly warranted a question in this Retro thread., A Lovely actress. Besides Walter Huston's wife and Cagney's mom in Yankee Doodle Dandy, she was Leon Ames wife and Doris Day's and Billy Gray's mom in On Moonlight Bay and By the Light of the Silvery Moon, that was my next clue.

Funny, I thought it was an easy question, especially when I gave The Bob Cummings Show clue about Dwayne Hickman  and his Many Loves of Dobbie Gillis show and Yankee Doodle Dandy I knew would clinch it. Even if the answer wasn't obvious some research would come up with the answer so I appreciate you taking the time to do that, just as I do for some of the questions posted here. Thanks again, Miles. You get lots of bonus points in my book and it's your turn

  6. Correct Miles, Bobby Van and Elaine Joyce.  He was a terrific dancer. Elaine  had the lead role in Sugar on Broadway. I remember seeing them together on many tv shows, especially game shows. Good work, your thread.

He was a singer, dancer and actor. Nominated for a Tony and worked in films.

She also appeared on Broadway. Known mostly for her work in TV. Both husband and wife appeared often on TV together.  Husband and wife and throw in a film he was famous for and some tv shows they worked on together ?????

    Repeating the question

Hint: They're both still working. He has worked continuously since his British television miniseries days, segueing into Hollywood films. His career has had no reversals. 😊

I've seen them both on stage: her several times, him once, as Richard II, at Stratford-upon-Avon.

Jeremy Irons and Sinead Cusack ?? LOL for the reversal clue ;) Brideshead Revisted and Elizabeth I. Her father is Cyril Cusack

Okay, who watches Home Alone 3, then?   😄

And FTR, Trump could also be cut out of the 1994 Little Rascals movie with no loss except a cheap early-90's "Rich guy" joke that was basically all we knew about Trump back when he was still an obnoxious slob but relatively sane.

I've never seen Home Alone 3, is trump in that too? I wasn't commenting on trump, just Home Alone 2. Trump  owned The Plaza when Home Alone 2 was filmed,  that was the joke when Kevin speaks to him.

Lav, You and I think pretty much in the same direction. LOL

I hope you had some fun with this one because I had fun writing it.

    Your turn.....

I'd appreciate you taking a look at the Retro question I posted a couple of days ago, remember you said let's not let it go to page 3 again, well without some guesses that's what might happen . It's similiar to the one you just asked in this thread Thanks. I'll be back with a question soon.

    Who watches Home Alone 2?

A lot of people, the Box Office was $174 Million  in the USA and Worldwide $359 Million. for Home Alone 2. Home Alone 1 and 2 are shown many times during the holiday season and on quite a few stations.

    Good evening.....

    "It's Relative"

See if you can match the relative actress with the Hitchcock Hollywood movie(s).

    1) A wife & a sister--in 2 different movies

    2) A mother twice-- in 2 different movies

*3) A wife twice-- in 2 different movies

*4) A wife twice-- in 2 different movies

    (*#3 & #4 are 2 different actresses.)

    5) A wife & a sister-- in 1 movie

We're looking for 5 different actresses here, with the corresponding movies.

Hint: All actresses are either stars or prominent supporting players.

    1. Vera Miles, this is a guess because in Psycho she pretends to be John Gavin's wife, she is Janet Leigh's sister though and in The Wrong Man, she's Henry Fonda's wife and Nehemiah's Persoff's sister ?????

    2. Jesse Royce Landis played a mother ( Cary Grant's mother) in North By Northwest and To Catch a Thief ( Grace Kelly's mother)

    3. Joan Fointaine played a Wife twice. Oliviers wife in Rebecca and Cary Grant's Wife in Suspicion

    4. Ingrid Bergman played a Wife twice. In Notorious as Claude Rains Wife and in Under Capricorn as Joseph Cotten's Wife

    5. Patricia Collinge played a Wife and Sister in Shadow Of A Doubt ( Joseph Cotten's Sister and Henry Travis Wife)

Is it The Big Heat?  The star is Glen Ford.  Do I need to answer another part of the question if that is the film?

Yes it's The Big Heat, GlennFord, Lee Marvin, Gloria Grahame There is no other part to the question, The thread is Describe the scene, I described the scene, you tell us what movie it's from. No one asked for more information than that, it's optional to add anything else. C'mon you've been here long enough now to observe how the games are played.,

It's your turn to post one.

  15. Thanks Miles

This actress appeared on many tv shows in many roles thru the decades. In supporting roles as a regular and more than a few times as the same supporting role in episodes as a guest. She played a wife on at least 1 tv show, she played a sister on a tv show, she played an aunt on a tv show, she played a mother on all the shows except for her role as an aunt and she played a grandmother on a tv show all in the classic retro time period (1950-1970's) Who was the actress, the tv shows and her role in each show ( big extra bonus for her character name in each tv show) please name different shows for each of her roles  as wife, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother ???????????
