Thanks Swithin , that was a good question next She won a Tony Award and then was nominated for an Oscar when she played the same role for the film. She played a mother and wife. He won a Best Supporting Oscar and was nominated for an Oscar years later. He starred in a famous noir and co-starred in a famous crime thriller. Couple, and the film wife is most famous for, and some of the husband's famous films?????????
-
considering how I screwed up reading the clues, amazing I came up with the right answer LOL
-
LOL read the clue incorrectly, thought it read that the wife was in the play and film. Betty of course wasn't and Betty's troubled young woman role was in King's Row. Betty Field and Elmer Rice?? Again, Street Scene ?? she wasn't born in the Bronx though. I think she was born in Boston. Birdman of Alcatrez,, Burt was nominated for that one,
-
Maybe Sylvia Sidney and Elmer Rice's are the couple and Street Scene the play and film ???? Beulah Bondi was the character actress in both ?

Village of the Damned - George Sanders took the role over when Ronald Colman passed. George was married to Benita Hume, Colman's widow. Benita was also an actress. I've seen the original and the original sequel Children of The Damned. Never saw the remake. I saw Village of the Damned when it was first released at the Bainbrofge Movie Theater in the Bronx.

That's the couple. Why beautiful Greer had that lapse in judgement we'll never know LOL. Swithin, it's your turn

I agree, understand why though. so many, many threads keep showing up pushing threads to page 3 where they are forgotten., I'll bet shutoo didn't get to see that it was her thread because it was pushed so far down in the multitude of threads. I don't care one way or the other anymore. Peebs has decided, the Thread is Open.

Chaya, please either post one or pass. I found this 1/2 way down page 3. I'm sure you can think of a film you'd like to post a question about.

Shutoo, do you want to post one or pass. Please answer

Good, hope you watch the Mark of Zorro. Not only for the sword fights but an appreciation for Tyrone's sense of humor portraying Zorro. Witness For the Prosecution is a great film, unfortunately Tyrone at that point was older and not well. I love Tyrone as most know who've been here a long time., I think he was one of the handsomest actors ever on screen and had great acting ability. You should add to your list of must sees, The Razor's Edge, Abandon Ship, , Nightmare Alley, Blood and Sand besides Zorro. These are great films and Tyrone Power's performances are top notch. Scaramouche is a fun film and I've recommended it many times on the bds. The dueling scene between Granger and Ferrer is legendary and the longest on film supposedly.

This actress was an Oscar winner and nominated several times for her film work. She was not born in the USA. Very beautiful and a fine actress and her films are shown often on TCM. This actor's film career wasn't all that impressive, The couple had a messy divorce and his career suffered because of it. He was one of 2 people who were barred from being a guest on a popular tv show,. He left Hollywood for other pursuits. He became involved in finance as a career and wrote books. Both husband and wife were in a famous film together. Who's the couple and title of the film they appeared in together ??? Extra credit to name that tv show show he was not allowed to appear on ?

Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year, Miles. Hoping for a Better one for Everyone. So glad to give you those Extra Bonus Points to start the New Year off . Yes, that cute actor was Christopher Olsen. He worked with Doris twice, both times playing her son.Turns out his brother and sister were both actors. His sister was Susan Olsen, better known as Cindy Brady!!!!! His brother Larry Olsen, played Jane's boyfriend Benji in Room for One More. But back to Christopher, he played one of Doris and Danny Thomas' kids in I'll See You In My Dreams and then 5 years later he played Hank, the kidnapped son of Doris and James Stewart in Hitchcock's 1956 The Man Who Knew Too Much. Good work Miles, you're turn

It's well documented that Basil Rathbone was the best swordsman in Hollywood. Basil also stated that Tyrone was much better with a sword than Errol. How many Tyrone Power movies have you've seen? Before making a sweeping comment and don't get me wrong, I love Errol, but he was not considered the best with a sword.Maybe see some more of Basil and some Tyrone films.

Sounds like Swing Time, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. There's an art-deco skyline on the dance floor. Terrific musical. Hope that helps. -

I watched and have a tape of the HBO movie Sugartime. It was excellent. I also remember many of their hit songs and remember seeing the McGuire Sisters perform on variety shows. Ed Sullivan, etc. they were very glamorous. Great singing voices and loved their hit songs. RIP Phyllis McGuire -
