  1. 2. Marion Davies with dark hair- the mouth and nose looks like her ?
  2. George Brent and Ann Sheridan are the couple BUT George was NOT in Now Voyager. George and Bette appeared in many movies together but not Now Voyager. I Was A Male War Bride is also my favorite of Ann Sheridan's films. Pick another George film. Your thread
  3. Lori I don't get your point here. Why would Leslie be billed above Gene. Gene was the star of the film just as Doris was the star of Romance on the High Seas. Just doesn't equate. james stated it was unusual so why the however? At any rate, Doris yes was an unknown to films but she was not an unknown as far as a singer goes. She was already singing with the Les Brown Band for a couple of years, she was a singer on Bob Hope's Radio Show and she already had a huge hit with the song Sentimental Journey.
  4. 9. Dixie Lee Crosby ? - Bing's 1st wife 10. Lupe Velez ?
  5. Some of the actresses the husband co-starred in movies with were Myrna Loy, Kay Francis, Olivia de Havilland, Mary Astor
  6. I've seen High Time on FXM, but not in a couple of months. They do show High Time every so often. If you get FXM, ( Fox Movie Channel) check that station. Cute film. Netflix seems to also show it according to Google.
  7. Found this thread almost 1/2 way down page 3!!!!! Do-Ri-Mi - Julie Andrews - The Sound of Music Leonard Berstein, Adolph Green, Betty Comden collaboration for a movie song(s)
  8. I'm taking a guess with Jack Cardiff more to rule him out than anything else. He's the guy that comes to mind and he does fit some of your clues ?
  9. Sadly, she passed away when she was in her 50's
  10. Husband and Wife were in a 1940's comedy that was a remake of a 1930's film.
  11. The Clock imo is a very good film. It's sweet and touching . I think you need to rewatch The Clock. It''s a lovely war time romance. btw, Judy in her heart wrenching Oscar nominated role for Best Supporting Actress did not sing in Judgement at Nuremburg.
  12. I also watched this morning. Love that show always have. I miss Charles Kuralt and his On the road segment. I guess I'm showing my age LOL. At any rate it's a wonderful show.
  13. Miles, I hate to write this but this is pretty pathetic. Any classic film fan should know the answer to this. I'll chalk this up to it being the holiday, so some aren't playing. If there's no answer soon I'll answer so we can open up the thread to play.
  14. According to Google the song is Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening, the group is The Tunewelders featuring Prisca Strothers.
  15. Thanks Princess and Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you, too next Although this husband had more than 1 wife who was an actress, the question will only require naming one. of them. He had a lengthy career that began in the 1920's, his last film in the 1970's. His heyday though was the 1930's and 1940's as a leading man in most of his films. He did appear in 6 films in the 1950's but was basically retired by the 1960's although there were some tv appearances. The wife, a beauty contest winner, was a hard working, well liked actress who was equally adept in dramas, comedies, noirs. She was in a well loved holiday classic film that's been shown on TCM. TCM classic film lovers know both this husband and wife, their films are shown often. Husband and wife and name some films for him and for her ????????
  16. Yes, of the 7 collaborations with Bernard Herrmann, his score for The Trouble With Harry was Hitchcock's favorite. Thought that was interesting. I knew that last clue would get an answer. Good work Princess, your thread.
  17. Jennifer Jones and Robert Walker ?? Jennifer won her Oscar for Song of Bernadette, my favorite of her films though is Portrait of Jennie. Robert Walker was psycho killer Bruno in Hitch's Strangers On a Train. Jennifer and Robert were both in Since You Went Away. Jennifer married David O. Selznick and Robert married Barara Ford who was an editor and John Ford's daughter. Barbara Ford was an assitant editor on many of John Ford's films, The Quiet Man, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, Red River, Rio Grande. After Robert and Jennifer divorced he married Barbara Ford, that also ended in divorce. ????????
  18. Film takes place during one of the seasons of the year and that makes those outdoor scenes a very important part of the film.
  19. 9 to 5 - Dolly Parton - 9 to 5 (Jane Fonda in an interview said Dolly wrote the song in five minutes while filing her nails while on the set) it was #1 on the charts another theme song that was a big hit
  20. Swithin, Miles and I have been mentioning this for quite awhile, but we're ignored, the threads just keeping piling up, a few here just keep adding new ones and don't care about the threads that are now lost. I found this popular thread pushed to page 3 the other day, because of all these threads. So there, now I vented, you are not the only one who feels like this. Here's a pastime I don't like - Run, Run, Run - Jack Carson - Romance On The High Seas A Stevie Wonder song of his used in a movie or one he sings in a movie
  21. Thanks Miles. next Which film score was Hitchcock's favorite of the films that he and Bernard Herrmann worked on together ?
  22. A few years back I think I did post their photos. years ago I posted more than a few in that thread.
  23. Yes and years ago I use to get Richard Carlson and Hugh Marlowe mixed up. I think they looked quite a bit alike.
