All correct Miles, Shelley Winters and Anthony Franciosa. He was 8 years younger than Shelley. Both had 4 marriages. Shelley Winters donated her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Diary of Anne Frank to the Anne Frank Musuem. Both Shelley and Anthony were liberal Democrats, involved in Civil Rights issues. Shelley won her other Best Suppotring Actress Oscar for A Patch of Blue. She said she hated the role, playing a racist and was speechless when she accepted the Oscar. The day Shelley Winters had her heart attack Tony Franciosa had a stroke. He died 5 days after Shelley passed.
Good work Miles, your thread.

She was a 2 time Oscar winner. Her career lasted almost 60 years. She ws married quite a few times.
He was an actor, nominated for an Oscar. His career lasted a little over 40 years. He was about 8 years younger than the wife this question is about and was also married quite a few times.
Both acted on Broadway and TV besides their film careers. Their marraige ended in divorce. Although he was well known, she was better known to most.
Actor and Actress and name films they were both known for ???????

This couple led interesting, if not somewhat opposite, lifestyles apart, which led to their subsequent divorce after more than 25 years of marriage.
She was a beautiful 40s movie star who co-starred with top talent like Burt Lancaster, George Sanders and Charles Laughton.
He was a daredevil US Air Force fighter pilot, who earned the title of "Triple Ace", having seen action in two wars.
The couple had several children.
When you identify this unusual couple, don't forget to mention one of her films and one of the many medals and service decorations that he earned from the USA or from one of our Allies overseas.
Ella Raines and Robin Olds ?
Ella co-starred with Burt in Brute Force, with George Sanders in The Strange Affair of Uncle Harry and Laughton in The Suspect. She also co-starred in Impact with Brian Dunlevy and Ella was one of the brave gals in Cry Havoc. Ella Raines was only 67 when she passed.
Among the many medals Robin Olds was awarded were the Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal from the UK. He fought in WW2 and Vietnam ????????

Marlo Thomas (That Girl) and her godmother Loretta Young (The Loretta Young Show) and the designer was Werle'. I always thought this was a mistake, considering an aspiring actress with temp jobs could've never afforded the threads she dressed in...every dress had a matching coat, and a closet full of 'evening' wear...really? In that time period, a young actress wannabe would've been wearing less conventional dresses, and if she did need to 'dress up' it would've probably been a knock off of a knock off of Givenchy or Oleg Cassini, or the old staple Chanel suit.
Shutoo, your answer was correct. This thread was on page 3, Please either post a question or open the thread Thanks

I saw "Rear Window" once & loved it. It's gonna be on TCM next month. Looking forward to seeing it again. I saw part of "Marnie". "The 39 Steps" and "Sabotage" were kinda dull. I can always watch "Strangers on a Train" over & over. Same for "North by Northwest" and "Rope". "Saboteur" and "Suspicion" are very good also.
Lori
Lori, I read in the other thread you like Doris Day. If you haven't seen Hitchcock's remake of his The Man Who Knew Too Much with Doris and James Stewart highly recommend watching that one. TCM does show it every so often. Great film. btw, I love Vertigo, I'm sure if you rewatch it you'll understand the ending.
Rear Window is also my favorite Hitchcock, I'd be hard pressed to think of one I didn't like, although cannot watch Psycho. First saw it in a theater, unfortunately I was under 10 when I saw it and that probably has a lot to do with why I can't watch that film. -

I believe the actress is Joanne Dru. She was once married to singer/actor Dick Haymes. He appeared in several musicals including "Four Jills In A Jeep" and "The Shocking Miss Pilgrim". She was also married at one time to actor John Ireland. He was Oscar nominated for "All The King's Men". He was also in a couple of movies with Joanne, including "Red River" and "Vengeance Valley". Besides those two westerns, she is also remembered for "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" with John Wayne.
All correct Miles, Joanne Dru was married to Dick Hyames for 8 years, they had 3 children together. Dru and Haymes divorced., 2 months after the divorce from Haymes she married John Ireland. Joanne Dru and John Ireland were also married for 8 years before divorcing. Good work Miles, your thread

next one
This is a two'fer. She was an actress usually typecast in westerns. she was married 4 times, twice to actors.
Her first husband was a singer/actor who also was married many times. Besides this actress, he married 3 other actresses and 2 other woman who were not actresses.
One of her husbands, was an Oscar nominated actor in an Oscar winning film.
Actress and the 2 actors she married ??? ( extra for naming films for each of the 3)

And this couple is still with us, though currently divorced from each other.
She was a child actress in the 50s who became a much sought after TV and movie Starlet of the 60's.
Then she to evolved into a serious actress in the 70's with an Oscar nomination.
He is simply one of the most talented and revered classical music artists of Our Generation.
Hint: Everyone has seen her in a popular classic sitcom, which still aires on nostalgia channels.
When you identify this couple, please give us the Academy Award nominated film for the wife and the instrument played by the husband.
Sounds to me like it's beautiful Tuesday Weld, nominated for Looking For Mr. Goodbar, of course we all remember Thalia, Dobie's love on Dobie Gillis.
The great Pinchas Zuckerman and his violin and he calls it "his fiddle" ????

Not long after they are married, the man puts the cat that his friend had given the young woman into his briefcase and takes it to the office with him. He then calls his wife, who tells him she’s upset because she can’t find the cat. The cat is not seen again.

Sean Connery (1930 - 2020)

Sad. So handsome and sexy and the best James Bond. He was always great in films. He starred in Finding Forrester when he was an older man, an excellent film and performance. It wasn't just those gorgeous looks. Sean Connery was a fine actor.
RIP
Sir Sean Connery
