[Need a title]

Someone mentioned Quatermass - I loved the two Brian Donlevy film versions, "Quatermass Xperiment" and "Quatermass 2" - Quatermass 2 was extremely disturbing... The creature they came up with for that, could have been very creepy, if they could have kept it on the ground, as it was, the actor underneath, kept pulling up the bottom of the black bubbly thing, so you could see that it was a Man under the black bubbly plastic or rubber thing. Nevertheless when they show the thing, it made me jump!

 

I remember in the early 70s they would make these Horror films that were basically a bunch of shorter films with something that held them together, one such was 'Asylum" - I remember one story had a guy who killed his wife and shopped her up and wrapped her up like meat and put her in a freezer - Threw an Egyptian "eternal life" amulet into the freezer. The parts all came back to life and killed the guy, guys girlfriend survives, but they make it look like she deluded the whole ep. But while the body parts are chasing the guy through his house, I was laughing and screaming at the same time- I was about 12 when I saw that one. The segment that disturbed me most was one inmate, made little mechanical men, and he was able to transfer his consciousness into the little model. Makes the Model-Man where somebody, gets startled and steps on the model, and intestines come out of the model - And you hear a scream, and we are informed that the man who was controlling the thing, had just been disemboweled. I had nightmares about that segment

Yah I agree they SHOULD bring it back. Like my dental benefits and eye care, which had nothing to do with the economy, so also the YFCC. It is not as if anyone were actually "handing out money" in fact, the sponsors who were putting up the films to be rescored were getting a DEAL - Cos the Prize money was maybe a third of what they would have paid a guilded pro ro do a score.

 

Plus, these rescored and also restored films are positive money generators, so there is no real spending of money, but there ie real cash return for each silent fil restored by a music student. - Plus they get a type of pay plus the experience.
