One of the reasons for Flynn's appeal, beyond the obvious physical ones, is that he didn't have to act--he was the same in real life, from what I've read and seen--witty, charming, adventurous, with a big lust for life in general. All that came through on screen, giving him a powerful mix of charisma and chemistry, especially with his leading ladies--just ask Olivia De Havilland. I don't think I had ever seen an Errol Flynn movie right through, before I got TCM at the end of last year. I decided to take a look at 'Adventures Of Robin Hood' and 'Against All Flags', and was blown away by both--not just the beautiful prints that TCM ran {the colour was gorgeous}!-but that I thoroughly enjoyed Errol Flynn as an actor. I'm now collecting his movies, as they run on TCM, and have ordered 'Gentleman Jim' and 'The Died With Their Boots On'. on DVD.
