Look, honey! I thought of one! The Thornbirds. The heroin is a strong woman who goes after what she wants and damns the consequences. All in the name of love. SIGH!
Ooooo....It's A Wonderful Life is a good one too. Appreciate what you have. SCREW work and all the problems that come with it and enjoy the parts of life that really matter!

Ahhh! Be still my heart....thank you, Mr. Holman.
-
Read my message again. *I+* didn't say it was underrated, *others+* did. That's what gave me the idea to create this thread. I can't wait to see it....once I can find some time to myself.
-
Although I haven't seen it, I've heard a few folks say that Somewhere In Time (1980) was grossly underrated when it debuted. Ta-da! A thread is born!
Who do you think didn't get the attention they deserved?
-
Sweetheart, I said NEVERMIND! I thought you were being a bully. I'm not the type to research relationships that exist in an online message board which is why I was unaware of your history with Bronxgirl and SCSU....I'm new here, hun. CUT ME A LITTLE SLACK!

*Haha....but not her fault. Those archaic torture devices that those poor gorgeous women had to strap themselves into are to blame. It's still a funny comparison.*

OMG!! Odd couple! HAHAHA! thank you! I needed that laugh. I love this thread.

Ohhhh.....ok! Nevermind!

Hey, CM.....back off! Going to hell for posting a comment on a message board? I don't think so.
By the way, Bronxy & scsu...good call.

Hey, honey! Yes, yes.....I haven't seen much from this site in my email's inbox. I sort of forgot about it! Plus, I'm no good at the lookalike thing....all of mine seem to be way off. GAL_IN_THE_SOUTH and I are trying to think of a new thread to create. We have a couple in mind, but we need to think about how people will react. She created the "like and dislike" thread which created some heat amongst some members. We don't want that to happen again. She felt just awful about it!
-
If there was a "practically perfect" thread, I'd have to list Sting (I have my own reasons), Paul Newman, Gene Kelly and, of course, Steve McQueen. Since some of you were talking about the stock market (funny stuff, by the way), I figured I could throw in my own random comment.

As for lookalikes....does anyone else have trouble finding actors and actresses who look like each other? I DO! I keep seeing people on the street who look like celebs. Heck, that's way easier!

Amen, honey. Amen.

Agreed, hardly sex symbol material. Again, I say....blech

I don't think that not mentioning him on TCM's site is necessarily disrespectful, but I am surprised.
Let's just say....his death wasn't the focal point of this site today or yesterday and it SUCKS.
What can we do about it? **** and moan! THAT'S WHAT! It'll get us nowhere, but it's a fine place to start.

I'm sure TCM will do something very nice to honor him...maybe even dedicate a whole bunch of airtime to his movies and biography. Wouldn't that be nice?
-
I'm partial to Natalie Wood, myself, but when Tony sings Maria.....I _mmmmmmmelllllllllllt._

I second that....blech.

LOL! True enough, but Ben doesn't quite have the orangutan-like knuckle drag that his father has. Bet he's glad he didn't get that gene.
-
He's best known for movies like Cool Hand Luke and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, but I think his work in Cars deserves to be mentioned too. They even made Doc Hudson's eyes NEWMAN blue.....SIIIIIIIGH!
-
A shame...an absolute shame. He was WONDERFUL! Not only was he devastatingly handsome, but he was a lover of people _and_ he could cook! Ladies, men don't get much better than that....am I right? He will be missed for generations to come.
-
I have to agree with CM about Mr. Softee and Criswell....OMG, soo funny! Thank you for that.

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but what about Stevie
in LWTPS and Eric Close (maybe it's the trenchcoat)? I'm not saying there's a strong resemblance or anything, but there's something about them...I don't know.Oh!! Whoever posted pics of Sandra Dee and Christina Milian....good call! They're total polar opposites when it comes to their coloring, but their faces are very similar. Adorable, aren't they?
Would someone post side-by-side pics of an orangutan and Jerry Stiller? I know it's silly, but he's always reminded me of an orangutan.

*Madeline Kahn: "aaaah, sweet mystery of life, at last I've found you!"*
so funny...also from Young Frankenstein

I think it's the FOREHEAD!!
Stevie Nicks and Carrie Fisher....I don't have pics to post

-
Cloris Leachman: "he was.....MY BOYFRIEND!"
Gene Wilder: "put the candle BACK!"
From Young Frankenstein....great movie. Nearly every line is memorable....love the "Puttin on the Ritz" dance scene....priceless.

*The ever so wonderful Natalie Wood deserves a day to herself too. I think they should show all of her films in chronological order. That would be WONDERFUL!! Maybe they could play Love With The Proper Stranger twice
....just a thought.*

Most underrated films, actors and actresses.
