It was a caricature, but I liked Donald Moffatt as LBJ in The Right Stuff. Also, Woody Harrelson was good in a more sympathetic, serious portrayal in Rob Reiner's LBJ.

Ha ha, I'm not much for the sports-style competition of which movie is "better" than another, especially in movies that are so radically different. But personally, I have a soft spot in my heart for The Muppet Movie, and if I had the DVDs of both sitting in front of me right now, I would probably choose it.

I don't think there's any blood in Shane, but I think there's a scene where Jack Palance shoots a guy, and he flies back about a foot, one of the first indications in a Western of the impact of gun violence on an individual.

I only watched one night of the Bond month. It must have been baseball season. It was a Roger Moore night. I watched The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. I don't recall hawking of the DVDs on that night.

They were committed to showing a rerun of a Brad Bird essential, and they apparently couldn't deviate from that just because it was Halloween. So, they picked his selection that was closest to a horror film and then created an admittedly tenuous theme of nuclear nightmares. I was also a bit surprised, but they showed plenty of horror movies all month, as they always do in October.

I'm glad I caught those films when they were available. You just never know with TCM. I swear there was a run where TCM didn't show My Fair Lady for like six years during the '10s after it used to seem to be on practically every weekend for about 10 years. I don't guess I'll ever know the story behind that, although it seems to have returned with some regularity in the last couple of years. And of course something happened with Angels with Dirty Faces, which used to a staple but hasn't aired for more than a decade, I think.
