I seem to recall there was a made for HBO movie maybe 20 years ago about the making of Citizen Kane with Liev Schreiber as Orson Welles and John Malkovich as Herman Mankiewicz.

All the boys think she's a spy! She got Bette Davis ... dress

Yeah, I've become weary of all of Christopher Nolan's playing around with time structure over the years.

so what IS the WORST FILM Bela Lugosi ever made?

I just slowly scrolled through the list of all the SOTM's on that thread, and I didn't see his name anywhere. Possibly he's had a SUTS day. Boris Karloff was SOTM in October, 2003. -
Well, Freddie Kruger I think is supposed to be the ghost of a serial killer. But yes, the slasher movies are rarely tied to conventional Hollywood supernatural fare.

Right now, it appears that's impossible to do anymore. Many people have voiced their unhappiness about this on these boards already.

I have A Rose and a Baby Ruth in my iTunes collection. Hamilton IV moved over more to the country charts as he got older, I think.

The Essentials: The Brad Bird Era begins May 2

You seem to see that from time to time. One example that immediately springs to mind is Herbert Marshall playing Somerset Muagham in The Razor's Edge. -
I didn't mean to cause confusion. All I was trying to say is Tenet was released into theaters. It performed well below hopes. So, now other tentpole movies are being pushed back as much as an entire year in hopes attendance will be more robust by then.

Ha ha ha, it's like the waiter/waitress who says "Great order!" Should I beam with pride? Do they ever say, "Oooh, terrible ordder"?

I think I've read Denzel Washington always wears his wedding ring in his movies, even if his character is single, so who knows? Maybe it was the same with McQueen.

The intensity of the time zone reaction has surprised me. Being a lifelong Central Time Zone resident, I have long been accustomed to adjusting back one hour all the way to the time in second grade when I realized Happy Days started at 7 pm where I lived, not 8 pm., since scheduling times have always had an East Coast bias in this country. I never even adjusted the time zone during the 12 years I've been using this web site, just always automatically being cognizant the times listed were eternally one hour ahead of "my" time. So, I'm not sure the inability to change that anymore will make any difference to me, unless the problem is weirder than that in a way I'm not understanding.

Death Takes No Holiday -- The Obituary Thread
sewhite2000 replied to Richard Kimble's topic in General Discussions
He was very memorable as Audrey's husband (or imaginary husband or whatever the hell was going on) in a handful of episodes in Twin Peaks: the Return in which he and Sherilyn Fenn seemed to be in some sort of Beckett surrealist play outside of any other plot action on the series. -
Wow. Well, the example of Tenet is scaring off everyone else.

Playwright/screenwriter Murray Schisgal (1926-2020)
sewhite2000 replied to jakeem's topic in General Discussions
As I recall, Tootsie had something like 10 different writers, though only Larry Gelbart of the TV version of M*A*S*H and Oh, God! got credit from the Writers Guild? Elaine May had a pretty large hand in it, also, I think. Usually, that many writers means a big mess, but Tootsie to me holds up and feels pretty tight. The performances certainly help sell the material. -
Films hard to find - Please make available on TCM

Sometimes it feels like the only time you get to see a Paramount or Universal release on TCM is because it's in the public domain. Charade was a Universal release. -
The First (or Best) Baseball Films?
sewhite2000 replied to antoniacarlotta's topic in General Discussions
It's not really about baseball, but I do like the extended scene early on in Woman of the Year in which Spencer Tracy takes Katharine Hepburn to a baseball game. -
The Post an Interesting Pic thread

That was my guess as well. -
I still don't feel like an expert, but after nearly 20 years of watching TCM, I can identify 11 of these 20 actors. I don't know that the placement of the heads necessarily represents the "tier" status MGM was giving each star, but I still found it interesting.

I did like the trailers or scenes from the previous incarnation of the website, and while I wasn't a frequent user of them, a handful of times a year I would watch a two or three minute clip of some upcoming title I knew nothing about to see if it was something I should make time for, based on my own quirky preferences. I see some of these new giant pictures have a Play button on them, but I'm guessing it's not the same thing? I haven't actually clicked on one.

I'm not entirely sure that's true. TCmM does at least seem to be aware of the existence of the other forums. Look at Eddie Mueller asking TCM watchers to like Noir Alley on Facebook and Twitter at the end of each of his episodes. If anyone who works for TCM is even aware of the existence of these boards, I've never seen them mention it on air. -

I think Kevin Spacey announces in voiceover narration that his character will be dead within a year at the beginning of American Beauty. Been a while since I've seen it.
