I also noticed another change that I believe just started today: the username \ notification icon, message icon are now on the RIGHT (where they had been before) instead of the LEFT (where they were after this format change).
I hadn't even noticed that until reading your post! I'm so used to it being on the right, I'd already forgotten about it being on the left.

Okay, I've seen the John Garfield/Claude Rains movie, although I can't remember the title. So, I've seen at least two.

Well ... 1760 is Conan the Barbarian. That's the only one I'm absolutely sure about (unless it's the sequel!) I'm struggling with all of the others. 1751 might be Wings. I don't remember if there was a drag scene in that or not, it's been so long since I've seen it. 1756 might be The Sun Shines Bright, John Ford's partial remake of Judge Priest, which I watched on YouTube about a year ago. I'm just going to have to wait for the others to be identified.

It's there on the very right within the top black message board area. Unless you have a large computer monitor it will be difficult at best to make out. The area is not a solid black and the Search icon is more black than the surrounding background. Move your mouse cursor around slowly and it should change from a arrow to the hand pointer.
This is a screenshot zoom in of the area, look carefully. To it's left is the Create new + and the Unread Content box
These absolutely do not exist on my computer. I can't find them no matter how much I move my mouse around.

Some of the first PG movies I saw in the theater when I was in elementary school still resonate most strongly with me, and perhaps I am more inclined to rate them higher than I might otherwise. I mean, Star Wars was probably the first PG movie I ever saw in a theater, and no doubt it was my favorite movie of all time for many years, but I really mean movies that I attended with my parents that weren't really targeted for me so much, movies that made me first understand what movies could be capable of. Some examples are Heaven Can Wait, Foul Play and The China Syndrome.

Ha, ha, ha, I'd already identified several of these movies but still couldn't identify the theme! I was also looking for some connection beyond the titles. I don't think I was really awake yet. I went back to bed for an hour. I could only identify 1741, 1748, 1749 and 1750. And those are also the ones I've seen: The Big Sleep, The Big Red One, Big and The Big Lewbowski. So, four.

Getting on this site today for the first time at 10:30 at night, so this is the first I'm seeing this thread. I'm pretty sleepy. It will probably be tomorrow before I check out the full schedule. I'm glad we seem to be getting back to these things being posted with more regularity.

I was traveling today. Totally missed out on this. I think I would have only been able to identify 1736. 1739 and 1740, though some of the others probably should have been obvious to me.
Honestly, I think Summertime is the only one I've seen all the way through, so I'll have to say I've just seen one. I've seen parts of Anna and the King of Siam and Camelot.
I forgot to mention on the previous list that I'd seen some of The Lost World, though not enough to say I'd actually "seen" the movie.

Unfortunately, they didn't go for my suggestion; replace the icons with gifs of Tor Johnson "agreeing," "disagreeing," "smiling," "sad," "killing," etc.
Ha, ha, ha, the Many Moods of Tor.

Holy crap. The Black Panther movie was the most successful solo film of the Marvel franchise. I'm sure Disney wants to continue the character. Not sure what will happen now.
-
I was correct about Bigger Than Life. I've also seen State Fair and Lady Be Good, though I couldn't identify them. So I've seen four.

I'm not having trouble finding the edit functions, but I always post on my laptop, not my phone (I do sometimes read posts on my phone).
However, I noticed the shading is much lighter to indicate functions like bold and italics are active. So light that I have to squint to be sure. This will be annoying as I am in the habit of putting movie titles in bold.

Having a hard time with most of the old ones, as usual.
1725 I think is Bigger Than Life, which I've seen.
1729 is Miller's Crossing, which I've seen.
1730 is The Joy Luck Club. No.
Only one I'm absolutely sure I've seen. I will have to wait for the others to be identified.

I do like that the Topics page now seems to automatically update, something it didn't do for me in the old format. Before I would have to refresh or briefly go into a previously read topic before I could see the newest version of the Topics page.

It's actually Scarlett at the fundraiser ball. Melanie introduces Rhett to Scarlett and he informs they already met "only briefly" at Twelve Oaks, then looks at Scarlett and says "You had broken something, I believe." And she curtly utters the line above.

If time travel is an option, I would go on the Death on the Nile voyage circa 1937.

Anyone else remember what I'm talking about here?
Yep. I think they still show it on occasion.

Been gone for a while. I see this thread now also has all that dumb stuff over on the right side crowding out actual content. I guess it does have something to do with how popular or large a thread gets.

Whereas, under the former system it really stood out with the stars and dots.
Ah, I see the stars and dots now. Guess I just ignored them before.

I feel kind of dumb, but I guess I never noticed all these stars and dots everyone is talking about. I always knew a thread had no new unread posts for me if the title was in gray.

perhaps because it was the first put up since the update?
Interesting. I can only hope that means all new threads post-update won't have this annoying feature, but that remains to be seen.

It occurred to me earlier today when I suddenly remember or think about something for the first time in a while, after I initially say "Oh, yeah", I very frequently follow it up by saying, "Yes, Captain Butler. I remember you." But only when I'm alone.

All the threads I've been on have a lot of statistical information I absolutely don't care about taking up the right third of my laptop screen, and there doesn't seem to be any option for Xing it away. I hate, hate, hate, hate this. Curioiusly, this is the only thread where it's not happening.

I am also left-handed, but I suspect it will take many weeks for me to get used to the notifications icon being on the left side.

I've seen several veterans of West Side Story and Twin Peaks mentioned, but I haven't seen Richard Beymer, a veteran of both, mentioned. He's 81. He came out of a 16-year retirement to reprise his role of Benjamin Horne in 2017's Twin Peaks: the Return.
