Speaking of horror movies, I feel I compelled to mention Hereditary and Midsommar, two films by a writer-director named Ari Aster. They both have gross-out factor to some extent, but for me they're really hard to watch because in each one the protagonists are doomed and/or damned by the manipulation of malevolent forces from the very beginning, and there is no chance at any point in both movies that they could escape their terrible fates. They're both brilliant but extremely depressing in that regard. I don't know that I will ever watch either again (saw both of them in the theater).
Different director, but Funny Games, which just appeared on TCM, very similar in that regard.

1054 is The Major and the Minor. Yes.
1056 is The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit. Yes.
1057 is Requiem for a Heavyweight. Yes
1058 is 1776. Yes.
1059 is Christine. No.
1060 is My Own Private Idaho. Yes.
Looks like I've seen at least five of these, unless I'm wrong on some of my guesses.

I've told this anecdote before, but when I was in college, a friend of mine who's a classic movie fan like myself talked a guy we both knew into tagging along for re-release of Lawrence in the theaters. My friend was very excited to get to see it on the big screen. The other guy was a bit leery, having heard it was very long and often slow-moving. So, they go through the whole attack on Akaba from behind and Lawrence finally gets back to Cairo with his young servant, and Claude Rains and the military brass all walk around with him still decked out in his Arab finery while hundreds of soldiers gawk from above, and the second guy is getting excited because this appears to be the end of the movie ... and then the word "Intermission" appears on the screen, and the other guy starts screaming at my friend: "INTERMISSION???? YOU MEAN IT'S ONLY HALFWAY OVER????" I'm not sure the guy ever really forgave my friend.

That's some interesting insight. TCM runs a promo for Underground that claims the lineup carefully culled to represent all forms of outre cinema. Not that it's a dumping ground for films TCM is forced to show in order to get something else! But it certainly makes sense.

Seems like one poster has already done that for us at least a hundred billion times more than TCM has shown North by Northwest.

Whew. I am really struggling with most of these.
1041 Doesn't look like Carole Lombard, so it must not be My Man Godfrey. But I'm not thinking of what it might be.
1042 Maybe The Grapes of Wrath? Which I've seen, but I'm not sure this is it.
1046 Probably One Eyed Jacks. Never seen it all the way through.
1047 My guess is The Last Picture Show, which I've seen.
1048 A Room with a View. No.
1049 Ed Wood. Yes
1050 It's Complicated. Yes.
I don't even have guesses for 1043-1045.
So, I'm only absolutely sure I've seen the last two. I'll have wait for the others to be identified,

Looks like I was way off with my Summer of '42 guess, so I've seen five.

1032 The Hurricane? Yes
1034 Gaslight. Yes
1035 The Fly. Yes.
1037 Ice Station Zebra? Don't think I've ever seen it all the way through.
1038 Summer of '42? Yes
1039 Hairspray. Yes
1040 Regarding Henry. Yes.
I don't know the others. If all my guesses are correct, I've seen at least six of them.

I got an email saying AMC (where for the last two years I've been an A-list member) plans to reopen 90% of its theaters by July 17. Whatever's playing if and when they reopen, I will probably go see.

I couldn't identify it, but I actually saw the 1959 version of The 39 Steps on YouTube about a year ago, so I've seen six of these.

1023 is Champion. Yes
1024 is My Son John? I've seen it, not 100 per cent sure this is it.
1027 is Rooster Cogburn. No.
1028 Well, there's a fox and a hound, so I'm going to guess The Fox and the Hound. I haven't seen it.
1029 is the newer version of Cape Fear. Yes.
1030 Based on Tom Hanks' hair, I'm going to say it's one of those Dan Brown adaptations. I'll guess the first one, The DaVinci Code, which I've seen.
I don't know the others.
So, there are at least three I'm absolutely sure I've seen, maybe five if my guesses are correct.

TCM just showed Chariots of Fire the other night. I only saw Holm in a small handful of films, but he was terrific in all of them. RIP.

I've seen Billy Budd, and the actors suddenly seem obvious to me once you identify them. Couldn't figure it out before, though. So, I've seen five of these films.

Wow. Well, the big question around here is, what will TCM do with 31 Days of Oscar with the ceremony not taking place until April? Maybe all those celebrity February birthdays can be highlighted that people on these boards get upset are skipped every year. Or a month of black history movies.

Wow Post-Tens! Completely forgot about those. I don't think they were ever something we had in our house, but my friends would occasionally have them. I was mesmerized by the idea of a seemingly endless variety of cereals right in front of me, even though the boxes were tiny.

1015 is Stalag 17. Yes.
1018 is Amarcord? No.
1019 is A Soldier's Story. No.
1020 is A League of Their Own. Yes.
Only four I'm absolutely sure I've seen.

A friend of mine pointed out to me that Sugar Bear was obviously supposed to be Bing Crosby. My whole life I hadn't realized that.

You've posted this clip before. You've also repeatedly called the Broderick Crawford character in Born Yesterday, who likes to knock a woman around, the "hero" of the movie. I find the behavior you approve of or even admire very disturbing. The fact that you associate the man who physically assaults a woman with Republicans and the woman who gets assaulted with liberals is also indicative of your thought patterns.
