  5. Here is a dream picture. It never happened. Garbo wanted Cooper for her leading man in Romance, but he was busy on another project, so they cast Gavin Gordan, an unknown; it did him no good, and he was cast as the 3rd and 4th stringer the rest of his career. I found this picture on MovieMaidens.com. It is what might have been, and should have been, had she gotten her wish, and the the two biggest stars had made magic together on the silver screen.
  6. Greta Garbo and Nils Asther waiting for the next "take" on the set of The Single Standard. Proposed to Greta Garbo in 1929. She turned him down.
  7. Louise Fazenda was in The Old Maid with *Miriam Hopkins*.
  8. Marilyn Monroe was in Love Happy as the client of Grunion: *Groucho Marx*
  9. After reviewing the thread, I have to state that Chatterbox with Hedy and Vivian, Sean Penn and Robert Mitchum, and Tom Conway and Geoge Sanders, along with Film Fatale's Greta Garbo and Sally Kellerman are the BEST look alikes! Personally, I always thought they should have made Garbo's documentary film starring Kellerman! Now, here are my two. I always got these two mixed up before I knew them. Rita Hayworth Ann Sheridan
  10. James Arness played Peter Holstrom the brother of Loretta Young in The Farmer's Daughter.
  11. Well, you can?t really blame johnbabe. She can only believe what she reads. Here are just four sites which support her claim. It is unfortunate that the 1955 Guinness Book of Records is not readily available to prove or disprove this ?claim.? I have tried in vain to find the exact page or the 1955 book on the Internet to prove this; however, enough websites support the claim, which encourages people like johnbabe to ardently support the statement that this in fact is true. It would be great if anyone found the book and made public that this is actually fact or fiction. Again, I think this would be almost impossible, but with so many sites supporting the claim, I would accept it as true based on the variety of websites purporting this as fact. If anyone would like to investigate further, just type into Google ? 1955 Guinness Book of Records The Most Beautiful Woman Greta Garbo, and you will see how many sites support this statement. http://www.hollywoodsgoldenage.com/actors/garbo.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greta_Garbo http://www.hollywoodusa.co.uk/biographies/garbobio.htm http://www.kevo.com/profile/gretagarbo Nevertheless, I find her beauty intoxicating, and she will forever remain my #1 Star! And, after hearing the claim that ?so and so? (i.e. Valli or anyone else) was the next Garbo, Miss G said, ?There will never be another Garbo.? Now, that is FACT. http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/oo108/ArmandDuval/DBQ72RQJT8DKaa.jpg>
  12. Edward Everett Horton In "Pocket Full of Miracles."
  13. Edward Arnold was in *Easy Living* with Jean Arthur
