The movie was set in, I believe Northern Africa, during world war II; somehow an odd collection of characters were trying to get an ambulance across the desert. I believe there was a british officer in charge (who was an alcoholic and his last bottle was running out), also a nurse, a wounded women, and a german spy?.....all I remember is the ending, when the alcoholic kinda had beaten his dragon after months in the desert and when they make it thier destination he makes to a bar, sits and stares at an ice cold beer served up trying to make the decision to go back drinking or not. He takes the ice cold sweating class of beer and drinks it straight down......I am going to tell you, as god is my witness, that I could taste that beer, the coldness to this day, and I believe i saw that movie 20 years ago. Anybody have a clue? Thanks
