Please tell me it is not true that the classic and one of a kind played film by Audrey Hepburn called "My Fair Lady is not being re-made, let alone with them considering Keira Knightley for the lead?
I mean all because she is British hardly qualifies her to take the place of the screen's reigning all time Queen of grace, dignity in acting, broad range of acting ability from comedy to drama to tragedy. First of all Audrey Hepburn had to learn cockney. If anyone has ever heard Keira in an interview they would know she is three steps ahead of cockney which means that for her to smear it would take great acting and speaking ability, neither of which she has shown so far. Oh she can swing from a rope and swing a saber that is true, as well as shoot an arrow, which in my book makes her more of a candidate for her to do a re-make of any Errol Flynn movie playing his part as a female. This is one of the all time great musicals of the century! PLEASE explain to me why Hollywood feels they have to go back and re-make these great movies again only to bring them to the screen to audiences that find them flops. Why not just re-release the original as they did with rear window which was seen to a great success? What is next? Natalie Portman playing Scarlett O'Hara? Brad Pitt playing Rhett Butler? Why cannot these actors and actresses of today, and I use the term loosely for I believe there are very few that truly are great as the former greats were be happy with trashing things like the legend of my people like Beowulf? Or Phillippa Gregory's book "The Other Boleyn Girl?"? What they did to that book was make a movie that resembled nothing of the book. Perhaps I am just too picky in my choice of talent. Or is it I do not know the true definition of greatness?
